The first sermon in a new series by Richard Warmack, pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Ruston, Louisiana, on the book of Jude.

45 minute video.

Jude 1:1-2 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

I did not listen to the 45 minute sermon, but I did look up Jude 1 in the NASB:

Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James,
To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

Note the order of the actions.

In the OP (probably a KJV like translation) we have first sanctified, then preserved, and finally called.

But in the NASB the order is, first the called, then beloved in (or by) God the Father, and being kept for Jesus Christ.

"The Called" refers to those God has given to Jesus Christ, also referred to being baptized into Christ, and being transferred into Christ's kingdom.
Peter refers to "the called" as those who have been called out of darkness and into His marvelous kingdom. Thus the called have been set apart in Christ.

We know many are called (meaning invited) but few are chosen (meaning transferred into Christ).

Since God the Father gives those of His choosing to Christ, they are beloved by God the Father.

And we know that once a person is transferred into Christ, where they undergo the washing of regeneration and are indwelt forever by the Holy Spirit, they are kept by the power of God for all the blessings of eternal life.
