Unholy human KJV-only reasoning/teaching

One sound reason that the modern case for a KJV-only view can be regarded to be flawed and even broken is KJV-only reasoning’s dependence upon use of fallacies. The chain of arguments for a KJV-only view can be no stronger than its weakest links. Some premises that underlie KJV-only conclusions are assumed on the basis of fallacies such as the fallacy of begging the question. The fallacies (illogical, false arguments) often evident in stated KJV-only reasoning are not true and holy.

Jason Lisle noted: “Logical fallacies are marks of inconsistency” (Introduction, p. 52). John Ankerberg and John Weldon asserted: “The KJO controversy is a pseudo-issue largely based on false arguments” (Facts on the KJO Debate, p. 8). Norman Geisler and Ronald Brooks noted: “Fallacies are like counterfeits” (Come, Let Us Reason, p. 82). Jonathan Stonis observed: “The KJV-Only Advocate’s stereotypical view lacks logic and reality” (Juror’s Verdict, p. 83). Craig Savige asserted: “It is clear that the father of lies is Satan, so to hold to something that lies against the Word of God is indeed a severe problem” (Why Faith Christians, p. 26). No lie is of the truth (1 John 2:21).

There are some serious problems inherent in inconsistent, uncertain human KJV-only reasoning and its unholy dependance on fallacies. Vain fallacies can mislead or deceive people to accept unproven conclusions for inconsistent, insufficient, inadequate, or even incorrect reasons. Fallacies and the cunning craftiness of men can lead to acceptance of assertions that are not true and thus to the acceptance of non-scriptural teaching.
