    Yikes! Sorry Spinach!!

It's warm here. No, it's HOT here - 82 degrees right now! It's so weird because the trees don't have any leaves on them yet but it feels like summer!

In a bit, DH is going out with our 6 year old daughter for the Father Daughter dinner at church. They should have a nice time. My oldest will be heading to work and I'll be picking up the 16 year old's boyfriend to spend the evening here. The 16 year old will get off from work at 6 then we'll come home and eat something (not sure what yet). Sonny-boy (8) will drag along with me. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

We had a balmy 93 degrees here in Queen City. And in spite of the heat, we watched two of our grandsons' baseball games (5 innings in each). Micah, the younger was first. He hit a homerun, and played pretty effective on first base for a 7 year old. His brother, Noah, who is 10, also hit a homerun in his game and pitched two innings (as a lefty), striking out all 6 boys at batting. So, we had a great day! In the evening we closed the day off by devouring 3-1/2 large Papa John pizzas (with different dressings). Just arrived home with Lenke and we are bushed..... Trust you'll all have a great day in the house of the Lord tomorrow! Good night. :type:

    Blessed Sunday, Everyone!

We here in the menagerie are working hard to finish up this school year (22 days left of public school), and get the yard and pool up and ready for summer. That this was a long hard winter and spring is evidenced by the HUGE pile of brush that is sitting out by the road waiting for pickup. We took down 4 small trees and picked up so many small branches out of just the backyard that we lost count. All those storms we've had the last few weeks made a bigger mess than I thought!. Now however the entire backyard can be mowed without worrying about what the lawnmower might hit.

I'll check in a little later this week hopefully.

Yuk! Summer is here! But they say it will get cooler by Wednesday.

The only thing good about summer is not having to carry heavy coats around. But you can have the heat.

What a nice day today! The sun is shining and it's about 65*. The goat is out to pasture, the kids are nearly done with homeschool (this is our last week), the laundry is in the washing machine (have I ever told y'all just how much I LOVE an automatic washing machine? Well, I DO!), and dh finished fixing the well. It's a beautiful old well---stereotypical round shape with a crank for a bucket. It's 13 meters or so deep with 3 meters of water in it, so we keep a bolted top on it. Last year we put in a submersible pump and now we have it to water the gardens/lawn with. In fact, I'm getting ready to go water a part of the yard now.

Still waiting for my stove to be repaired. I hate waiting! I really want to make some bread, but perhaps my hips will be thankful that I've been unable. :)

Better run. I have to set up the sprinkler and then saw more wood for the raised beds. One of these days we'll have all the modern tools, but for now, everything's done by hand. There are pros and cons to that. LOL!

    Have a great day, Everyone!

It's a beautiful day here - it's going to be 90 degrees! Wow! In April of all things! I'm going to hang our bedsheets and towels on the line because I LOVE fresh line dried sheets. Ahhhh

Today will find me running sonny-boy to his friend's house then my little one and I will go shopping for a gift for her friend and some new socks for the two younguns. All of their socks have holes in them - so it's time. Then I'll come home, make dinner and then take my 16 year old out for shoes and a purse for the junior banquet that she's going to on Saturday with her boyfriend. I'll post pics when we get them - they're a cute couple and we really like boy. :)

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It's a balmy 70 degrees and sunny here. The weather has been beautiful here lately. Sure is good to have consecutive sunny days for a change. LOL!!

We have a potluck at church tomorrow to dedicate our new kitchen, I signed up to bring Noodle Casserole and Deep-Dish Apple Pie. This new kitchen has been in the planning stage for a long time and now it's finally completed.

We've been busy with Doctor's Appointments, Yardwork, and getting the RV ready for another season.

Will try to check back in later.

We're meeeeeeellllllttttiiiiiinnnnnggggg! They've had record/near record temps for the dates here...hit a high of 75, put me into automatic puke mode. LOVELY! I do NOT do well with heat! Thankfully it's going back down tomorrow, starting at 65, next day I think is 55, then the next is 45, chance of snow coming up. YAY! There are huge puddles all over the city where people just melted away. It's terrible. Send help! Call the National Guard! We're UNCOMFORTABLE! ROFL

(heat makes me daffy too btw!) :flower:

    They look cute together Ann.

When you ship that hot air south, can it make a quick stop in Michigan before it hits Ohio, Gina? We're only in the 50's today.

Had a great time with the worship service, kitchen dedication and potluck yesterday. Guess we qualify to be "belly-baptists". We love potlucks. LOL!

We have had four-day of on and off rain, and it is not finished yet. Just planted my tomatoes, pepper, Italian parsley, dill, and other goodies last week.... so I need not to water them for a while. Hope the over watering doesn't kill them though.

We have one more day before Lenke's total right knee replacement. She is scheduled for Thursday at 2:50 PM. Her surgeon is Dr. Lowell H. Gill, who was for a number of years the president of the American Orthopaedic Association. He is one of the best surgeons, having over 3,000 successful hip & knee surgeries under his belt. He told my wife, "Mrs. Halo, I will take good care of you!" We hope and trust that soon Lenke will be able to walk pain free. Covet your prayers on her behalf. Just imagine though, Lenke's surgery is scheduled on the National Day of Prayer.

Have a nice day all! :type:

Barnabas - We'll be praying for Lenke. My dad is about 3 months out of having his knee replacement and it's been a long road (he had waited too long to have it done) but he's finally beginning to get better than he was before. I pray Lenke has an awesome recovery. I wish I was around to bring a meal for you both! I'd bring my Chicken Picatta that I made last night for the first time. Yeah, I now call it MY chicken picatta - it was AMAZING!!

Well, we're going to get a little schooling done this morning before we have to run to the police station in the next county to pick up the accident report for my daughter. She's fine - she got rear-ended by a taxi on Monday. The car isn't terrible but definitely needs fixing. The trunk lid was pushed up enough that it doesn't seal well so if it's raining (which of course we're at the point of calling Noah around here for a ride), she can't drive the car otherwise it will get all wet in the trunk. But once I get the police report, and go to the insurance company, we should be able to get the car into the body shop to have it all fixed. It will be 100% covered by the other guy's insurance, thank goodness. We do NOT need to be dishing out additional money right now! OY!

So I'll catch you guys later! I left fresh blueberry cream muffins on the counter and the coffee is set. Enjoy!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Ann, I understand 100% what you mean by our babies growing up. Next year I will have 3 in high school! How did that happen??? The "baby" will start 6th grade in the fall. I'm keeping her home with me the next three years.

Lovely couple you have there. This here is my 16 year old and her fella ready for prom:

The menegerie around here keeps on growing. We now have 9 of these residing in our house. All saved from life threatening pool chemicals:

I wonder how long its going to take me to convince the boys that we really don't need that many.

Well, I gotta run again. Today is pool vaccuuming, sewing, kitchen cleaning (I cleaned the rest of the house yesterday, but somehow the kitchen never stays clean), guitar lessons for Chris and possibly a trip to B'ham so Chris can go to a movie with T and the girls and I can go to the library.

    Ya'll have a good day!

MK - Your daughter is gorgeous and it's such a pretty picture! Oh and the frogs are so cute. Good for you for saving them!

Today will be kind of quiet. I just need to call the body shop and set up when we'll bring the car in for DD. I think we decided we'll wait until she's done with school then send it in since school is a pain to get to when she has to take the train and bus and she's got all her artwork going back and forth. Fortunately the accident on Monday (she was rear-ended) didn't do significant damage to the car other than making the trunk not seal well against rain. But DH did something this morning that will hopefully work well enough for 2 weeks.

Other than that, I'll go to the barn to groom Whirl and play with him for a bit (he's unable to be ridden right now due to an injury) and then home for dinner. Tonight's dinner is 5 cheese mac and cheese - a new favorite around here! I can't wait!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Just stopping by for a second.

Your Daughter and her guy sure look cute Cuz. Those little frogs are amazing!

Sean's Mother [my former-daughter-in-law] was coloring her hair this afternoon and came running over here in a panic. Her hair is usually a deep, dark brown...but today it came out BRIGHT ORANGE. Our Daughter quickly went to Rite-Aid to get some very dark brown hair color to try to repair the damage. Sandy[Sean's Mother] is staying in the house-she's afraid to be seen outside.

So being the kind, understanding former-Father-in-Law that I am I called Sandy and asked for Carrot-Top, then asked if I could bring some carrots over to her. I thought they were going bad and wanted to compare the color. Sandy's reply to me cannot be posted on a Christian message board.

Have to doublecheck on dinner but I was laughing so hard that I just couldn't resist getting on here for a quick visit.

Been gone for a while---working in the yard/garden. We got the raised beds finished, a wooden fence put up (from recycled wood), the grass cut, flower beds and strawberry patch weeded, saw horses finally put away, and seedlings going in the makeshift greenhouse. I've also started milking the goat (the stubborn little thing that she is!). Busy busy busy!!!

    Hope y'all are doing well!
