Well no. Now I'm in Oklahoma. Thought you missed where I was right before this. :wavey:

Sorry for the confusion! Yeah, I move a lot.

He was living here and I couldn't talk him into interior Alaska for some odd reason, so we're living as a family here.

And guess what? We didn't get married in Alaska OR Oklahoma!

A terrible storm with flooding came last night, but at least it has given us a reprieve from the heat!

I canned 27 quarts of various types of pickles yesterday. My cellar is filling up and as I stand back and look at it, I feel quite proud. This is the first time I've been able to put up so much of our own foods.

That is awesome! This is our first year to have a garden and so we are still learning alot. We need a cellar, I am going to start that project once things cool down a bit. Temps are still over 105 everyday, been that way for over a month with no rain.

We've canned 62 qts of pickles, 25 gallons of frozen squash, 20 qts of relish, 10 pts of pickles okra and several gallons frozen. In a few weeks we will start getting things ready for a fall garden.

I wanna fall garden! I missed getting one in this spring. Someone point me into some instructions as to what to plant.

    Blessed Sunday Everyone!

Today my oldest turned 17. I'm happy for her and sad for me. This will be her senior year in high school! Surely I'm not old enough to have a child almost ready to graduate high school!

I'm here with a cup of tea recovering from the VBS work so far. Today:

Got to church at 9AM for the service.
10:30 - went to the deaf church to start training the woman who runs the computer over there. She's so difficult that I was offered double pay for training her. Seriously. I'm going to speak to someone though because I don't think she should represent our church - long story.
11 - helped the deaf church computer person run the Sunday School video
12 - helped her run the computer for deaf church
1 - finished with deaf church - time to set up the stuff for VBS
1-1:30 - made 20 gallons lemonade and 5 gallons iced tea, 170 cups of coffee
1:30 - ran to Entenmann's for 45 cakes then to the farm stand for 8 cantaloupes
2:45 got back to church - set up the kitchen
3:30 - started setting up the computer for Monday of VBS
    6 - finally headed home

We had a quick dinner of spaghetti and meatballs and now are just relaxing until bedtime. It feels SOOOO good. We're getting a downpour right now and some big thunderstorms should be coming through too. But that's OK - I'm ready for bed!

    Good Morning Everybody,

The wedding went off very well. We did have a intoxicated person try to crash the wedding he was easy to deal with, and then we had one of the Bride's Sisters who obviously had a bit to drink before the wedding get too loud and obnoxious during the dance, I just cut in to the dance and danced her right into a corner table and then told her in no uncertain terms that her behavior wasn't going to be tolerated, and if she couldn't control herself she'd be told to leave and I would make sure she did. She decided it was in her best interest to leave, quietly. Other than that everything went well, and everybody was happy.

Got some loose ends from the wedding to tie up today, then hopefully everything will get back to as close to normal as things get around here.

Will try to drop back in later.

Good for you! Great way to handle it.

Today is interesting. Got all five kids here by myself. Made cinnamon rolls with the 9 yr. old, sent a resume off to a place I hope will pay better than the place that hired me.
Am praying for hubby...he took off to go get some business done and is NOT having an easy time of it.
We're supposed to get rain every day this week. That should be interesting! Two of my daughters love the storms...mommy would rather hide under a blankie!

    Good Morning Everyone!

All is quiet here for the moment, but the poor doggie is all tired out from pacing the house during the thunderstorm that just rolled through. Like Gina, it is supposed to rain here at least through the weekend!

T had a doc appointment first thing this morning so I am up early and am about to start cleaning. Then there will be summer school work to be done for the teens and homeschool stuff for Jenna. The teens are trying to get all their stuff finished up this week so they don't have to worry about it next week and can have the last week of summer free to do as they please! I have to say, I'm ready for it to be done as well. Why public schools feel the need to assign work during the summer is beyond me.

Cuz, I'm glad the wedding went off the way you wanted. Wish the newlyweds well for me!

    Ya'll have a good day!

Often we worry about the things that never happen.

Boy, the coffee house is SLOW lately! Don't ya people drink coffee anymore? LOL

I walked out to get my mail. I was dry. All of a sudden it poured rain and I could barely find my way back to the door. I had to dry off in the kitchen and get a complete new set of clothes, even though I was only at the mailbox. At least I didn't drown. I think it was close though!

    Good Evening Everybody,

We've been watching 4 of our 5 gramdchildren for a week and # 4 went home with his parents tonight. Brenda & I are not accustomed anymore to watching 18-month old kids. All the Grandkids willbe at their Dad's from tomorrow afternoon thru Sunday afternoon. Finally some peace and quiet for awhile.

Tomorrow after the Gkids are gone I'm taking Brenda out to dinner. We've earned iThen we're going to kick back and relax until Sunday afternoon.

Will stop back in when I can.
