In the "Minister of Music or Worship Leader" thread Tom Butler said some very nice things about my father. So, I'm very sorry to report that Dad passed away last night. He had gone into the hospital on Thursday with some confusion and delirium. By about 1:30 A. M. Friday these had descended into unconsciousness and unresponsiveness. He slipped away a little after midnight this morning. We have already had a great outpouring of sympathy from family and friends. We need your prayers to help us get through this time. Dad would have turned 89 next Thursday.

Tim, I am really saddened at the news of your father's passing. I know this hurts, and I hurt for you and the family.

I hate to hear this Tim. Our church organist mentioned it on her Facebook status a few minutes ago.

For a number of years, your father was a member of our congregation and he was well loved. We mourn with you in his passing, but rejoice in the fact that he has joined the heavenly chorus with the saints of old, singing to the Eternal Father, the Glorious Son, and the Holy Spirit.

    Well said, BB.

Looks like he enjoyed a long life of service, and is now reaping the rewards.

God bless the family left behind.

My prayers are with you, Tim.

I was blessed to have your father as a professor years ago. His knowledge of music and musicianship, and its applications to leading a church in music were profound.

I bet he's already cobbled up a choir in Heaven...or at least singing in one!

Once again, you have my prayers.
