I've been collecting the state quarters from day one in a neat little booklet. I'm still waiting on Hawaii. It was supposed to come out a few months ago, but I have not seen it yet. Has anyone else seen it?

Yep...for several weeks. But of course, I live in Denver where the mint is located.

Yes...one thing to remember is that some states are not being produced in the same quantities as others. If you don't get one, let me know and I can mail one to you. Got it in my pocket right now.

Thanks, MP. I'm fine for now - I'm sure I'll see one eventually. Speaking of quantities, they must've produced a gazillion Connecticut's, because I still see those all the time.

Hawaii came out last year I believe.

This year Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico have already come out. I think that is the last of the quarters.

Also, a series of Lincoln pennies with 4 different designs is out this year. I've seen one design so far.

There's still a few quarters left after Puerto Rico.

I've heard that this might be the last hurrah for pennies. No longer economical to produce, it's been proposed that they no longer make them (it's not as bad, now that they are zinc rather than copper). But still, might make a fine collectable.

I've got all 50 state quarters, uncirculated.

I think they should do a bunch of "alternate designs" on state quarters...some ideas:
    • Alabama: a big "49" on the front; on the back, our state motto: "Thank God for Mississippi."
    • California: On the bottom of the quarter, everything should be Spanish. On the middle, left hand side, a bunch of fruits and nuts. And toward the top, a picture of someone hugging a tree. (ya'll might have to think about that one :D)
    • Alternate California: Just make an IOU the size of a quarter.
    • Arkansas: You remember the silhouette of the voluptuous woman you sometimes see on trucks? Put that on the front, and on the back, put "Bill Clinton's Home State."
    • Alaska: On the front, have a picture of Sarah Palin beating David Letterman over the head with a moose.
    • Michigan: Put a picture of a broken-down jalopy on one side, and above it place the words, "Home of the UAW and allegedly a car company or two."
    • Hawaii: Make the quarter to look as if it was hastily scrawled, "Birthplace of Barack Obama."
    • Texas: Make the quarter the size of a dinner plate. Then put on the quarter how many hundreds of other quarters will fit on the Texas one.
    • Nevada: Put an apple, cherry, the word "BAR," and other stuff on one side. If you get three of the same, you win a Nevada Half Dollar.
    • New York: Make an ordinary quarter, with one exception: If anyone is in possession of that quarter, tax them a dollar.
    • Arizona: Regular quarter, but make it so that it gets too hot to touch.
    • Florida: Put a full-length picture of George Washington on the front. But, on his legs, give him bermuda shorts, black socks, and sandals.
    • Washington D.C.: Misspell words. Make it not round. Make the quarter claim to be worth 30 cents on one side, and 20 on the other. Appoint a "quarter czar" to explain why it doesn't work right. Then, replace "In God We Trust" with pretty much anything...That part's ignored, anyhow. Finally, if you have more than two of them, you must send them to Washington so that they can give them to people with no Washington D.C. quarters.

I can't remember which one I don't have, but it is either Hawaii or Alaska.

We got a whole roll of Hawaii quarters from a hotel when we asked for change for laundry.
I had no idea they were hard to find. One of my daughters was working on collecting them so I'm sure she "rescued" one or five. :tongue3:
Didn't know they were hard to find...I was just amused to have a whole roll of all one state!
