    Does anyone know how to get rid of WinBlueSoft? My son saw it as a free download, and now we can't get rid of it. It wants $49.99 to register so that it can get rid of spyware, trojans, etc., and even after I did an "un-install" on it, it keeps popping up on the screen. I can't even find a way to turn it off. It pops up saying your computer is being attacked by this or that, even when we are not connected to any internet source.

    This is free, very powerful, and has an uninstall tool that may get it off. I use it on all my computers.

    Linux sminux.

    :tongue3:

    Actually I ran across wubi that installs ubuntu as a windows program and you uninstall it like a windows program.

    First time I could not get my wireless to work so uninstalled from add/remove programs and it worked.

    Second time it picked up the wireless and I am a happy camper thus far, don't use it but play with it now and then.

    Got Wine on and am working on getting esword to work. Works but no text showing as yet, found some fixes to try one day soon.

    Wubi is a good way to try it out, but it is slower than a native install. If someone wants to play around with Linux though, it ain't bad. Ultimately the best way to go is to use either a virtual machine or do a dual boot setup if you really have to drop back to Windows often.

    Ubuntu is very nice...I also like Mint and am currently running Fedora.

    Once you go through the guide, post a HiJackThis log HERE. Requires (free) registration, but there is no spam (the site I help run). Osiris or one of the others will analyze the log and let you know what to remove.

    Thanks everyone. I've been on a mini-vacation - took the Grand-daughter to Iowa to meet her Great-Grandparents. She's a little over 2 1/2 and this is the first time they've seen her.

    Will check into the fixes in a day or two.

    Don't know what exactly happened, but finally it stopped running continuously. Used AdvancedSystemCare again, used their registry fix, and that may have been what did it.
    Anyway, it's gone, and I'm glad. :laugh::laugh:
