Pastor Bakers Suicide

    To clear the air on this matter-The facts are he took his own life by helium overdose,premeditated. He did leave a note. not disclosed at this point. There is much speculation as to why. Depression or other factors not confirmed. It's a sad time for the membership, many are very angry. The family and ministry should be in our prayers. The damage will take years to recover from. Pastor Bowler is interm pastor until a replacement has been found.
    God is still in control!

    I will certainly pray regarding this situation.

    I'm just wondering though, why are some of the congregation angry?

    You say "to clear the air on this matter" but we don't even know what matter you are referring to!

    The late Pastor Baker led a Christian Bible College and pastored the Baptist Church in Ajax, Ontario.....not too far from me.

    A short time ago, he took his own life and shocked the church community and college. It was a shock because he was a good pastor and preacher. He was leading the church and school in expansion and then this.

    There is confusion as to what caused it, and not a lot is being said out of respect for the family and church. All the pastors down my way have been praying for the work and the people without helping to spread gossip.

    Hope this helps all to understand. I believe he left his wife and 4 children and comes from a northern state......I thought Michigan (could be wrong on this one).

    He comes from Michigan and many are angry because he has let the congregation down during a time of expansion. Please pray that the Lord will send us the right man to minister to us.

    Dear God, You are the One Who can break those with broken hearts, and we pray that You will comfort Pastor Baker's wife,children, and congregation.
    Please help all to forgive and move forward in serving YOU. We pray that You
    will provide a new pastor for this hurting congregation.We pray this in Your
    precious Name. Amen.

    Just proves what the Bible says over and over....we are all Adam's descendants, we are born sinners, and we all continue to sin throughout life. Praise God for His gift of salvation to those who believe!
