Christian Solidarity Worldwide is a Christ-centered, multi-denominational ministry called to stand with our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ, giving voice to their cries of suffering and urging action on their behalf, by raising prayer support and emergency aid in partnership with the Church and other like-minded organizations.

International Christian Concern is an interdenominational human rights organization dedicated to assisting and sustaining Christians who are victims of persecution and discrimination due to practicing their faith. ICC affirms the foundations of the Christian faith as articulated in the Apostles’ Creed, recognizing the Bible as the inspired word of God.

2003
The International Religious Freedom Report for 2003 is submitted to the Congress by the Department of State
in compliance with Section 102(b) of the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) of 1998. The law provides that the Secretary of State shall transmit to Congress each year "an Annual Report on International Religious Freedom supplementing the most recent Human Rights Reports by providing additional detailed information with respect to matters involving international religious freedom." This Annual Report includes individual country chapters on the status of religious freedom worldwide.

Have you heard about SAT-7 TV Ministry to the Arab Nations?

Satellite television is today a phenomenon in the Middle East and North Africa. Around 115 million people (38% of a total population of 300 million) have satellite television in their homes today. In some countries the number of homes with satellite television exceeds 90% of all households.

Christian populations in the region vary from 30% in Lebanon, to 11% in Egypt, to less than one percent in some countries—but Christians live in every Arab nation.

SAT-7 was created to help empower these Christians by providing them with inspirational and educational programs. These programs are mostly made by Middle Eastern Christians who are careful to ensure that each show is culturally sensitive. The shows are also full of the Good News of Christ.

If you have a burden for reaching the Arabic people with the Gospel and a burden for Middle Eastern Christians who possibly face persecution or death for their faith in Jesus Christ, this seems like a wonderful Ministry to Support. I just found out about it not long ago.

Please pray for this Ministry. And surf around on their website above. You will be blessed.

Bibles for Military

Rapid Deployment Kits
The thought of war is sobering. Yet at this challenging time, we are encouraged by a tremendous opportunity to come alongside our soldiers and provide them with vital spiritual resources in the form of Rapid Deployment Kits (RDKs). As pictured here, each RDK includes a small camouflage New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, an Our Daily Bread devotional guide, a "Would You Like to Know God Personally?" booklet, and more, all in a waterproof bag designed to slip into a soldier's uniform pocket.

These materials are having a tremendous impact on many soldiers. Consider the following report from General Jim McCarthy, USAF (Ret):

"In Kandahar, Afghanistan, I saw two Marines in different circumstances with the combat bible. One Marine had just returned from a combat patrol and his first action was to pull the bible from his fatigue pocket and kneel down to pray. His exhaustion was apparent but his purposeful commitment to prayer was more compelling. The other Marine... was guarding prisoners in the compound at Kandahar and was assigned to accompany me through the compound. I noticed the pocket where he may have kept his bible. I asked him what was in his pocket and he pulled out the combat bible. I asked him where he got it and he said it was given to him on board ship before he deployed into Afghanistan. He said a lot of his comrades were using them and he found great comfort in his combat bible."

The cost is two kits for $5. By March 2003, the Military Ministry had distributed nearly 400,000 kits. Requests from chaplains for more kits come to us at a steady pace of about 20,000 per month. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Should you be Southern Baptist, and know someone, especially US Armed Forces personel, in Europe, or on their way, be sure to check out the INTERNATIONAL BAPTIST CONVENTION. The IBC is in essence a "state convention". They currently have a partnership with the Ky Bap Convention. There are dozenz of churches in Europe and Asia. I attended Zweibruecken Baptist when I was in Germany, way back last century. Does anybody know if there is such a convention in the Pacific Theater?
