We're getting snow in the morning but just 1-3" so it shouldn't be too bad. We'll still drive our 19 year old to work most likely just to be safe. :) Otherwise I'm heading to church to work in the morning - we have Anne Graham Lotz speaking here this weekend so I have a lot to put together for that. Not just Sunday's songs but the PowerPoints she has and such. But once that's done, it's RELAX time.

We're getting plastered again. The first round earlier this week was fine white powder in large quantities, now we're getting the heavy wet stuff with some ice. Add that to what we already have and the the kids will have enough snow to build a snow house!

I'm so glad for Christian friends! Otherwise, I would have immediately thought of this: [IMG]

    instead of beautiful white snow!

There is more snow forecast for those of us in the UK too. We are getting rather short of salt to treat the roads properly. Fortunately we are well stocked up so don't have to venture out too often.

It was -22c this morning with a bitter cold north wind. One benefit is that the sun is shining!

Next week it is supposed to rise above freezing for a few days. It is January, however. Sure hope the January thaw doesn't wait for February.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hrm...I'm tempted to say yes, but then I'd have to come up with a reason for reading that magazine! LOL

I'm home from church with a cold. Bleh! On the other hand, I think this is the first time in a LONG time that I will have a couple hours totally and completely alone. Ahhhh....

That is my dream, my wish and my deepest desire. To be home .... alone.

But alas, it will be years before that happens. LOL

    Good Morning Everyone!

Home alone is what I had before homeschooling. The trade off was a 30-40 minute drive to drop off kids at THREE different schools morning and afternoon. I'll stick with homeschooling!

We are supposed to have a few nice days in a row here, so I'm going get started on some outside work that has needed doing for a while (but will cost $$ that I didn't have until now). It'll be nice to be outside for a change!

It's nice here too and finally above normal temperatures! However, we had a lot of rain yesterday so outside is quite muddy. I need to take care of the horses for my friend today so that will be NOT fun with all the mud but that's OK. I have a good pair of rain boots that will work perfectly for today.

Additionally, we're doing school this week to make up for a bit of school that we got behind on. The little ones are not happy but oh well. ;) Finally I want to get all of Christmas packed up and put away today. That will get me ready to do some good cleaning tomorrow. We haven't put it all away yet because life has been so busy! Of course it's not slowing down much but both of my teens were home yesterday so I asked them to start on everything. It will feel good to get that done. :)

I had to spend the night in Tuscaloosa during this storm that year. I was not happy, but glad I had a place to stay.

    Good Morning Everybody,

We are going to have two additions to our family shortly.

Our Daughter and her Husband are due to deliver their first child soon, a Baby Girl. Her name is Jordyn Alexis; and the daughter of some good friends of ours is going into rehab and is going to let us take care of her two-and-a-half year old daughter until she is able to again. Her name is London Marie. London's Grandparents aren't able to care for her because they already have two special needs grandkids to raise, so Brenda and I volunteered. London already knows Brenda and I as Nana & Papa so we're not strangers to her. We will be getting London today, and Jordyn should be delivered soon[probably within the next two weeks or so.]

There will be some adjustments, but there shouldn't be any problems. We're just praising God for both little girls. Life will definitely be different around here with a newborn and a 2-and-a-half year old new to us and the family.

Did anyone tell you you're an angel? I hope all goes well with taking London and that the newest little one comes safely. :)

We're snowed in. I'm okay with it. I'd rather curl up by the woodtove with a good book anyway.

Even though we homeschool, we are taking a snow day.

I wish I had some fudge. Or any chocolate. Well, except for the cheap waxy stuff.

Snow!! We've warmed up too much for snow although there's a small chance later in the week. I love getting snowed in - it forces us to slow down. :)

Today SHOULD be relatively quiet but who knows what the future brings. LOL We're homeschooling and cleaning and then my 17 year old has a dentist's appointment later. I'm going to give my dad a call in a bit to invite him to dinner as long as our friend doesn't pass away before then. I'll give him the heads-up that we might have to cancel at the last minute. We're not sure how much longer Reeves has so we're keeping things open and ready for when his time does come.

    Good Morning Everybody,

Well, London has taken over the house. It's just like she's been here all along. Not hard to tell that she's used to being away from Mommy though.

Seems like Papa has become her favorite. She wants to sit on my lap to eat and no matter what she has to eat she always wants what Papa is having.

Getting on the computer has become a challenge though. As soon as I sit down at the keyboard, here she comes to take my finger and lead me somewhere. LOL, I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Surprisingly when I would make her something 'kid-friendly" for lunch and dinner she'll eat it, but she also wants what I'm having too, and does she have an appetite!

Time to go, I'm being pulled away from the computer by a cute little blonde [no it's not Brenda, but Brenda doesn't mind a bit. :love2: ]

I brought in Overnight Chicken Casserole, Biscuits, and Deep-Dish Apple Pie. Enjoy. It also just happens to be what London and Papa are having for lunch too.
