Ouch, that's a big promise! Isn't it awesome when our kids do this stuff? Congratulations to her!

I've been blessed with the three girls...the oldest is great at art, the second one wonderful in drama, and Banana has taken an extremely successful leap into the world of poetry. So I get to live vicariously through ALL of them. HA!

So what kind of a laptop is this? Does it come in purple? Hmmm?

Ann, if I do pull them, I'll just go ahead and join HSLDA first. I had to do it in the communist state (Ohio) and they have more rules there, so I'm pretty comfortable with the process. I just get cranked up when they try to tell me it's more than it really is!
I hope you get a new oven FAST! You're very lucky to have access to the one at church. That would be hard to do without one at home!

What's wrong with your oven Ann?

Gina, they are still looking. Nothing is going to beat the little Acer laptops we got for Chris and Jena a couple of years ago (for about $350 each! were we ever lucky!!). Walmart had a nice HP for $598 that would have done nicely (this has to last her through college)but they were out of stock. Really, we would have had to get her one before August so the real prize was getting it now instead of later!

T had a tooth pulled today, so he's not much into looking elsewhere today, but I'm guessing by tomorrow they'll be searching the internet to see what they can find.

Cass has her interview with the Honors Program at the University she is going to attend. It seemed to go well (but what do I know?). Now we wait. If she gets approved I think she'll really enjoy the program. Its much different than the regular cirric.

Back in October, I noticed the temperature wasn't what it was supposed to be (much lower than what it read) and then it suddenly locked the door on me one day while cooking a pie. Eventually, these things continued and got worse with it suddenly "coding" (shutting off and displaying a code that's telling us the oven is too hot) and locking for hours at a time. Even not using the oven at all, it will lock for no reason. But now, it won't even ignite (it's gas). So I'm ovenless for a while until we figure out if DH can fix it, get the board fixed or if we need a new one.

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 9 degrees here with about an inch of snow on the ground. We are forecast a Winter Storm Warning for Tuesday and Wednesday though. The experts have predicted 4"-6" of snow for Tuesday and another 6"-8" of snow for Wednesday. Not as much as some got on the East Coast but enough to keep us occupied for the next few days.

I was taking the garbage outside last night and managed to do my best Dancing Bear on Ice imitation before I crashed to the ground. Today my back is sore and stiff and my right hip is swollen, sore and sending angry signals to my bra--, I mean head. Brenda has convinced me to go in and have it checked today. She is really concerned...she doesn't want to have to cook and knows if I have to I can cook sitting down. Seriously she is concerned, after she sarcastically called me a "Closet Christian Scientist" for not going in last night to have it checked.

Time to get ready to go in and get poked and prodded.

    Welcome to Monday Everyone!

And yup, it is indeed Monday (even for folks that aren't suffering from to much celebration over the Saints win). Cass, oh my, am I EVER glad I'm not one of her teachers or classmates this morning! She is on a tear this morning! Nothing is going right AND she has two tests to take in Spanish today. Poor baby.

Cuz, you better listen to your wife. Us women only get nastily sarcastic when we really think you are being stu---ummm, stubborn, yeah that's it. Stubborn. Take yourself to the doctor!

How is that new baby doing? Ya know it hurts to change diapers with a sore back. 'nother reason to go to the doc! :D

Ann, that sure is bothersome. My old electric oven might not work just right, but it sure is easy to fix! I'm goinna remember this when I go hunting for its replacement (on the priority list for just after we can no longer find parts to fix the old one), because I really want a duel fuel stove with gas on top and a convection oven. I'm really dreaming though, because we'll have to redo cabnetry to replace my stove (which is why its not on the list yet).

Gina, I will let you know if we find a purple laptop. I don't think color is on her wishlist though.

    Ya'll have a good day!

I'm headed off to make Cass a pair of pants and get 9 more pairs ready to hem and then I have to go work at the shop again this afternoon. Gonna be a busy day! I guess I should find something I can crock for supper tonight. Hmmm.

FoG, I didn't know you were Russian!

MK, my one daughter is nicknamed "Purple" by both her friends and teachers. It's her color!

No work today...daughter has an appointment in the middle of the day, so I couldn't work a half morning OR half afternoon.

Sitting here with a cup of cinnamon apple tea after waking up to an asthma attack for no apparent reason. I did the rescue inhaler thing twice and it's improved, but this is the first time it's not just gone away. Weirdness.

The rain is turning to snow here. Whoo-hoo! We're wondering if they'll cancel school tomorrow. I'm guessing yes. Every time a cloud sneezes out here, school gets cancelled!

Gina - I've also been struggling with asthma the last few days but the funny thing is that I don't have asthma! Well, I guess I do when I get sick and that's just what happened. Fortunately, I last used the inhaler on Friday so I guess I'm doing better.

MK - That's EXACTLY how we ended up getting this stove: electric oven broke...needed new one....wall ovens are HORRIBLY expensive yet any we found didn't fit in the cabinet....needed a new cabinet to get expensive new stove.....but the rest of the cabinets were in bad shape.....so let's replace all the cabinets....and replace the wall oven/separate cooktop with a range which was about 1/2 the price of a cheap wall oven/cooktop....so we remodelled the kitchen with the new range. :) The issue is the computer. DH is going to work on getting that out today and seeing what he can do and if he can't fix it, he found a place that can for under $200 and it's got a 2 year warranty. That would be great. The oven is only 9 years old so NOT worth death just yet.

Rob - PLEASE be careful on the ice! Your family needs you and it's not good to be laid up a long time with broken bones. Trust me - I know. Let us know how the doctor's appointment goes.

Well, today I'm moving slowly thanks to a headache (not a migraine, fortunately). However each time I blow my nose (which I'm doing a lot thanks to this cold), I feel like someone is stabbing the back of my head with an ice pick. NOT fun. But I need to get things done today anyway. I'm going riding later (I missed riding all last week from being sick) and hoping that Whirl will be a really good boy today since I'm not up for rodeo riding quite yet. We're due to get a bit of snow tomorrow night into Wednesday so I'd love to get a really good ride in today. After that, I'm going food shopping then home. The family wants burgers tonight so that's what we'll have. DH was SUPPOSED to be away with the other pastors today through Wednesday but our senior pastor came down with the flu and our senior associate pastor's wife is in the hospital again with colitis (she's been in 3 times now, every 2 weeks). So they decided to postpone the trip and now I need to make hubby friendly food rather than the kid friendly food I had planned. :)

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back on here.

Went to the Doctor yesterday and nothing serious; just a bruised hip and a sprained back. Doc told me to take it easy for a week or so, limit my walking [use a cane if I do], and no lifting. He has me on Motrin for inflamation and Tylenol 3 for pain. The combination of which explains why I haven't been on here since yesterday morning.

I asked the doc about cooking and he told me it was better if I let somebody else do that for the next week. I think I better plan to live on soup and sandwiches for the next week.

So I plan to rest and catch up on my Bible reading.

Oh, I'm so glad you're OK. Please take it easy and listen to your doctor!

Well, we're getting ready for some snow to FINALLY come here. It's been a month and a half since we had anything that we could measure and it's about time! We should get around a foot and I'm stoked. We're planning to have my college aged daughter stay home from school (she drives 45 minutes each way to school in Long Island traffic) since she only has one class. She could take the train but the trains today are already delayed and the sun is out and it's gorgeous! She needs to be at work at 2pm and if the trains were on time, she'd have about 25 minutes between train and the beginning of work which is perfect, but who knows what the trains will really do? So we told her to get a hold of her professor and let them know that she most likely will not be coming tomorrow. I'm guessing the public schools will close since it's going to be blizzard conditions so we'll have a snow day around here! Woo-hoo!! So I'm pulling in the firewood, cleaning and getting a few things done around here so we can enjoy tomorrow. I'm so looking forward to it!

Whew Cuz! I'm glad you updated us. And I'm really glad its just a sprain.

An IRL friend of mine fell just this morning in her house! and broke the cap of her humerous (where it fits into the socket). She goes tomorrow to the ortho to see what they can do about it. Today was spent in a morphine haze to combat the pain.

Ann, you are soo lucky. We need another snow day! But not tomorrow. Tomorrow I have to take the kids to see the neuro. They are both having more migraines than usual. I've been chalking it up to the constantly changing weather we've been having, but it is beginning to get in the way of their schooling.

Hi Everyone! Just a stranger checking in here. :)

We have snow, snow, and more snow! I would like to choke Phuxatawnie Phil!

Hubby is having his defibrillator/pacemaker adjusted Monday. The top of his heart is beating 300 times a minute and the bottom half is beating 80. He may have to get a new device installed if this one can't be adjusted.

Happy to hear you're all still patronizing the Coffee House. I knew you didn't need me. LOL

We are tightening our belts for the coming depression. We made four meals out of the same pork roast. :)

Night 1: Pork Roast, boiled potatoes, baby carrots.
    Night 2: Repeat
Night 3. Pork BBQ sandwiches and cole slaw
Night 4: Vegetable soup with extra veggies thrown in and still had enough left to freeze for another meal!

Tomorrow night, DH will bring home Walleye Dinners from the American Legion...no cooking...no dishes. :)

I am pretty much still stuck in the house until spring. I had a visit with a pulmonary specialist and I am now taking Advair + Spiriva daily and my breathing has improved immensely. I am moving around the house more freely now without oxygen.

Hope to get back here soon, if not, you are not forgotten!

My two newest great grandbabies will be arriving in August and September, respectively. Woot!

Yes, Sue, I concur - it's great to see you! You "sound" so much better!!

We're supposed to be getting 8 hours of snow here starting at 3:00 this afternoon! Woo Hoo!! I'm sure Wal Mart is rejoicing right about now - LOL! I would love to have it be a full blown blizzard and be snowed in but I feel so guilty wanting that because we are going to a wedding tomorrow and I would feel so sorry for that couple and just hate it for them. Soooo....I have to hope for some nice snow and just let it go at that....But 8 hours! wow! Of course, that's from weather.com, so maybe I shouldn't hold my breath!

Edited to add that I just noticed that this month it's 7 yrs on the BB for PJ, 6 for MK, and 5 for me. woot!

We're having 2-4 more inches of snow Sunday PM into Monday rush hour. This on top of the 16-20 inches we're just digging out of. Can I ship the latter over to you, Pamela?

    Oh what a morning.
I slept for about an hour...prednasone given for asthma has me away, and while I finally have the ability to inhale all the way again for the first time in days, now there's a fever and cold symptoms that were not there before, and the icing on the cake was the nosebleed at 3am. EW This also means waiting on some scheduled testing...I have about 28 blood tests to do and the prednasone will mess them up.

We did get some snow yesterday but it didn't stick.

Got some chicken soaking for dinner tonight. I'm guessing the majority of time will be spent trying to rest in between kneeling at the ungreat white throne, but I'm planning a few things like dinner and laundry to force myself to move around and not let this junk sit still inside me. EW

    And did I say...EW?

OOHHHH I almost forget! While I was up all night I was periodically chuckling over something the youngest female child did the other day. We've been trying to get her to eat with her silverware the right way and she wasn't doing it, so I told her to keep one hand on her lap, and said she'd have to not finish her dinner if I saw the hand up on her plate.
Fast forward 120 seconds...she has her empty hand on her lap, the hand with the fork is near the plate...and she's pushing her chicken towards the fork with her...

    NOSE!!!!!!!!

It may not have been proper etiquette like we're going for, but it definitely was amusing!

It's snowing and it's soooo beautiful! Peanut has been running races outside in it and playing with her toys, but I think she finally got ready to come in. Was out with her for a while and we had fun, but time for coffee! :)
