Today is a "catch up to life" day. Last week the stomach virus ran through my children and I also had a lot of work to do because we had a guest speaker at church with three different speaking times (Friday night teen seminar, Saturday night Father/Daughter Dinner, Sunday services). So, today is laundry, chores, homeschooling and I NEED to go food shopping once I figure out what we're eating this week. It's raining out so I don't think I'll be riding, but I may run to the barn to do a few chores for my friend if she needs them. We'll see what I do.

You should have bacon, tomato, and bean sprout sandwiches on one of the days. Mmmmmm.....that's good stuff!

    Good Morning Everybody,

We got some good news today. London's Mother called us and wants us to have guardianship of London. It appears she feels that her situation isn't the best for London, and that we can give her a better home.

Needless to say, we were surprised. Now it's just a matter of having the Probate Court approve the guardianship, after an investigation of us. Shouldn't be much of a problem really.

At 60 and 58 this really wasn't what Brenda and I expected, but we're not complaining.

Wow Cuz! What a glorious testimony at your age to be considered for the honor of raising another child. God gives greatly to those that are willing! Remember, Abraham and Sarah were over 100 before they got Issac raised!

Wowza!! So that little sweetheart is yours to keep - at least for now! I pray that God works it all out for His glory. :)

Well, it's raining and pouring here. A LOT. I know God promised to never flood the earth again but I think He's willing to give us a taste of it anyway. We have puddles in our front and back yards that are quite large and we live on sand!! Well, it's a great day to stay home and clean, right?? LOL

Oh my goodness! It is only 8:30 on a Monday morning and I have already:

    Had coffee
got T and the kids out the door, including driving the kids to school!!
    balanced my checkbook
done my normal internet stuff and
    ate breakfast!!!!

And I'm not near tired yet.

T was fitted for his CPAP device last Thursday and its great!!! He sleeps so *I* sleep. It is absolutely amazing the difference I see already. This keeps up and we may run circles around our kids.

Okay, I gotta run off some of this excess energy. I have a whole house to clean and some yard work I want to do. See ya'll later!

It's so glorious outside and I WANT to do work today! The kids are right now homeschooling, hubby got the boat all ready to go into the water (it should be launched today), and the house is pretty clean! So today I'm just going to do some laundry, clean bathrooms then head to the barn to go riding. It should be wonderful to ride today. :)

I still need to figure out dinner, though. Any thoughts??

I'm putting on a crockpot full of baked beans and smoke sausage dogs and a few regular hotdogs. I've ended up being called to work in my friend's shop cause she is sick today. Good thing I'm still not tired. LOL

That sounded good enough that I put a pot of beans and a bit of smoked ham for flavoring out to cook last night.
It's done, so we can pick at it all day long. Yay!

    Glad I could inspire you!

Welcome to Monday everyone. It is starting out to be another week of the new "normal". Chris is in bed with his non-stop migraine. Cass is in bed with her non-stop sinus infection which isn't helping her migraines. And Jenna has a fever!

I'm torn between waking Chris up to see if we can get through some of his make-up work or going outside on this beautiful sunny morning and doing some badly needed yard work, even though my back is complaining. (stupid back complains all the time so I've mostly quit listening to it!)

I'm going to finish my morning coffee and then decide!

Wow, it's all sunshiney and nice! Wish I wasn't so ridiculously tired lately.

I'm thrilled to have found an online writing venue that pays a very tolerable sum per article. Being sick, it's nice to be able to do things on my own terms. I can get up at 1am and make money...legally. HA!

Our newly adopted doggie is still adjusting and getting better from whatever crud she picked up in the shelter. Despite the work we have to put into her right now, she's so stinking cute and worth it!

We found an adorable puppy last night who immediately attached herself to the girls. She had almost been hit by a car. Somebody loved her and cared for her quite well, but we couldn't find the owner and couldn't keep her, so we had to take her to the shelter.

That's the news from the homefront today!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It's sunny here too. We hit 70 today and we're forecasted to hit 80 tomorrow.

We too have adopted a puppy. It's our Son's dog. His apartment complex just put a no pets policy in effect. The dog is a sweetheart and he didn't want to take Toby to the shelter or put him down, so we volunteered. Toby has adjusted like he'd always lived here.

Jordyn and London are both growing like weeds, and are the center stage of the family.

So far, everybody is healthy. We just had a bout of the flu go through the family like Grant through Richmond, but right now everybody is healthy.

Brenda's migraines have somewhat abated, so she volunteered to take over overseeing the nursery at church, and I'm getting back into ushering.

Good to see others posting and enjoying [or enduring] life lately.

Other than that not too much going on in "God's Country".

Drive by post - just got back from church and another of our church plant meetings. This is getting real, people! We have our first event planned (we're going to have some events before the actual start of holding services) which will be having in a parent coach to speak to parents on "The Dangers of Raising Nice Kids". Tim Smith is a great speaker and we're targeting the unsaved/unchurched and we thought that in the largest school district on Long Island, this could be a bit of a draw. :)

Other than that, things are going along. Kids in school, homeschooling, horseback riding and lots of work keep me busy.

Oh - and I have "frozen shoulder" too which is bringing me to physical therapy twice a week. It's working great and I've only gone 3 times so far!

It's another sunny, sleepy day. I'll be spending it sleeping and writing!

You have my sympathy Sis, glad the therapy is working. I had a frozen shoulder about 18 months ago and went thru therapy. Glad your improvement was faster then mine was though.

"Frozen Shoulder" makes it easier "to give somebody a cold shoulder!" :tongue3:

    Good morning ya'll!

Well, we are almost at the end of a very long week. I don't know what Cass brought home but not only has she been sick and at the doc 3 times in the last 8 days, but she gave it to Jenna. Chris is still trying to get his migraines under control (as in I get him well enough to go to school and he come home with another!) but just as we thought he might get to go to just one class today, he now has a low grade fever!!!!!! If it gets any higher, I'm going to keep him home again. That'll make for 5 days in a row, but the school is aware so I guess life won't end and the truant officer won't visit. Really, the school doesn't want him a) with a migraine, b) on pain meds or c) with a fever, so this will just be one more day to make up. Thankfully they are off school tomorrow so maybe I can get everyone healthy again!

How does one freeze a shoulder?

    LOL - I wish!

LOL - Yep. I caught it early enough (2 months from the onset of pain) so that I'm preventing the full "freezing" part of it. I only lost some of the range of motion and it's definitely improving a LOT. The physical therapist is thrilled.

It's a weird condition that they don't know just what causes it but basically you start out with pain in your shoulder and in time, the joint freezes up and you can't move it. It WILL resolve on it's own but it can take 2 years for that to happen and in some cases, surgery is needed. But I caught this one really early, which was great. So I lost very little range of motion and am already getting it back.

Ha! I can't count. Chris was out of school *8* days in a row! Stupid migraines! Oh well. He made it in just for his last class today. Don't know what the fever was, but it was gone as fast as it appeared. Maybe he won't catch the crud Cass and Jen have had.

Ann that sounds both painful and aggravating! Knowing me, I'd have just chalked it up to my arthritis and not gone to the doctor! I'm glad you were wiser!

    ♫♫ Oh what a beautiful mooooorrrrrnnnniiiinnngggg!♫♫

I've got all the Pepto Bismol commercial symptoms, without the pep. I see the doc tomorrow morning.

I'm going to attempt to go to the library today for a book, to the doctor so I can take paperwork to the specialist tomorrow, to the laundry room to do the fifty pounds of laundry that piled up over the last two days, and if I can quit going to the little girls room, maybe even to Chili's for lunch since I have a gift certificate. So I'm just sitting here doing a little research and waiting for the drugs to kick in so I can leave the house. (unfortunately it takes a little more than pepto bismol for that to happen at times like these) At this point in my life it's either that or start carrying around a portable potty, and that just doesn't seem like a fun option!

Although I guess it could be, depending on which end you're on.

    Bwaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Made myself snort....

I'd be a horrible person if I didn't share this news!

There is candy for sale out there called "M&M Premiums."

When I first saw them, it appeared to be a way to package a small amount of M&M's in a fancy box, make them appear a bit different in and mix it up with some flavor, and charge ten times what they were worth.

    I WAS SO WRONG!

I found some on clearance and figured hey, for the same price as regular M&M's, I should try them. They ARE pretty!

    THEY ARE DELICIOUS!

These aren't just regular ones on steroids. These are like miniature fancy candies, except instead of coming in a box for a zillion bucks for 12 big ones, they come in perfect little sizes so you can eat a bunch of them and not feel guilty! They are both a treat for the eyes and the palate.

I bought two kinds: mint chocolate and Raspberry Almond.

Oh goodness. These are amazing. I thought the mint chocolate ones were heaven, but then I opened the raspberry almond ones and almost passed right out on the cold hard floor from an overwhelming sense of yumminess and well-being.

GO BUY THEM. They're worth it.
