My dad is a veteran of the Air Force.

All of my life (I'm 48) I've listened to stories about his T.I. (?) from the mid-1950's. He said that this man changed his life. He's told these stories over and over and I've shared them many times over with my classes at school. I feel like that I know this man personally.

My dad is 72 and it's quite possible that this guy is still living. I've got his name and would like to contact him or his family as a Christmas gift for my dad (I know, I know, I've waited too late).

How does one or CAN one find the whereabouts of former military personnel? Could I contact the Air Force and could they help me?

    Thanks!

Or is it just a lost cause.

    Try www.military.com.

Go to the community drop down box. There is a buddy finder search feature there.

    Assuming you know his name.

I've found people on google, there are also finder sites for a price if you do not find him on your own.

    No, but thanks for asking.

military.com didn't have explicit information (I could only find names) and when I went on whitepages.com, I didn't know where to start because I don't know what state he is in. I started with Texas which was where my dad knew him and came up with over 50 names.

It's a common name and I don't know what state he is in.

I may try again this summer when I am out of school and can devote my full attention to it. I've wanted to do this for a long time.

    Thanks.
