Does anyone have a good new Christian / new member curriculum that is easy to teach? I have a layman who wants to lead a class and I'm looking around for a good curriculum for him to use.

Not interested in anything that supports the KJVO myths, not anything ultra Calvinistic.

    Thanks, buds!

The best I know of is daily reading of the Bible beginning in John, and then immediately to the Epistles or Paul. The book of Acts will show the transition into the Body of Christ

I haven't started looking yet but in our new church plant, we'll definitely want something because we think we'll soon be having a lot of unsaved -> newly saved people and it would be great to have something.

I know our church does a 3 class thing called "Essentials of the Christian Faith" but I'm not sure what they use. It's for new believers or people who are just new to the church and want to get the basics. We also have a class every year and a half or so called "Pillars of the Faith" and my husband taught that. It goes over even more of the Essentials class and covers the basic doctrines. Maybe you all can work on something like that???

They used to have a lot of basic stuff, Bible book store might have some of their stuff if not, online.

Some of the Sunday School material publishers might have something of interest as well.

This isn't a curriculum (though one may be available for it, not sure) but our church uses Paul Little's Know What You Believe, which covers the basic doctrines of the faith. It's very clear and covers the basics without being dry or difficult. I'm reading it for the 3rd time for a SS class that is now going through it.

I used to give all new converts a book from InterVarsity Press titled: The Fight by the late Dr. John White. He was a Plymouth Brethren and Psychiatrist who also taught at a Christian university in British Columbia. Excellent to take one through the fundamentals of Christian beliefs.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Note: The book was originally titled: The Fight; the Christian Struggle. Costs about $9.00 US through InterVaristy Press...online
