Please pray that God will give me the grace to not lose my mind because of my job. Things are starting to get pretty tough.

    You have my prayers.

Additional aside, which your request reminds me of during periods of employment while the country seemed to be going through a period of high unemployment, a total of 5 at least:

At times like this we need to be praying for specific people and in general for our brothers and sisters in Christ, those who are working and those who are not.
Those who are working often have added burderns as they are working with fewer staff due to cut backs, and may be working with fewer resources or having to provide tools which were formerly provided in the work place, to add to their efficiency: also some may be working with fewer hours or comp time given to off-set over-time pay or to compensate the employer for the vacation time earned..... convenient for the employer but not necessarily advantageous to the needs of the employee for RnR. Due to higher expectations of Christians as to attitude and performance, they often are additionally challenged by the conflicting use of time between co-workers and customers who need a cheerful person to relate to and the other duties of their job which have to do with a production need.

During such times as these, evaluation tools frequently are altered also and the employee may find himself/ herself under a harsher and more critical scrutiny...... as the employer or boss may also be under pressure to present as much 'evidence' or 'cause' whether fair or not, in each employees file to justify a termination. Additional to this, the employee who has been with the company longer, and who may normally be considered more valuable due to understanding and folllowing policies and efficiencies developed in workplace communications and practices, may be given no added consideration against a new hire, particulary where graduated wage increase, increase benefit liability related to age and time with the company are seen as an increase in employer ovewrhead cost. Being in a group of 'lay-offs' is easily accepted on job applications, but an involuntary termination or resignation is more difficult to explain to a new prospective employer.

God's Servant (aren't we all supposed to be?), I'll be praying for you and for others....those on this board and those who I know and those who are known to God for comfort and peace in the midst of this storm through which we are traveling and may travail.

I wish I could remember the location of the 'Whatsoever is........ think on these things' verse.... NT and Phillpians I think. But it has always helped me recenter my mind when everything seemed to falling apart around me and trying to suck me into the craziness of it all. Also remembering God has not given you a spirit of fear but of peace and hope and a sound mind. Strength also comes from God in response to a spirit of prayer and mindfulness of his presence and finding ways to be thankful. May God bless and help you through these times.
