    Hello Everyone,

I've been struggling with my faith to the point at which I do not feel like I have any assurance in salvation. Please pray that either God will grant me assurance or that he will bring me to salvation, if I am not truly saved.

Also, please continue to pray for my job situation.

A good question. many of us have had this question too!

    :praying: for you precious, StefanM!
Many of us believers have asked the same question that you have asked.
Let us look at the attributes of God found in the Bible. God is holy who can not look at sin.God is love and mercy we know, this because of John 3:16." God so loved( we could put your name StefanM instead of the world) that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus who died in our place) that whosoever ( we again could place your name, StefanM) believeth in Him
    has everlasting life.

    God is holy
    God is love
God's Son,Jesus died for our sins.
Those who believe this promise and act on it are saved.

I know that we feel like we are not God's child if we sin.
But this is where grace and mercy comes in.
God knows our every weakness and the Holy Spirit convicts when we are sinning and we have a choice to do it or to ask help from the Holy Spirit to give us the strength the will to not sin. IF we sin, we need to confess it to the Lord and He forgives us.!

Thank you for Lord for Your love and forgiveness of sin!
If you still have questions, I would encourage you to see your pastor, Sunday School teacher or a mature Christian to help you.

God does love you and Jesus died for your sins and He has promised to forgive your sins and come into heart if you ask Him to too!

In agreement with Jilphn about this not being uncommon, let me add that my heart is touched when I hear people crying out for more faith as I see that plea in itself as a sign that God is working in their life to draw them closer to Him and in reality is a wonderful sign of assurance. Every time I hear this it reminds of these Words which are written in my heart:

Mathew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you, seek, and you will find, knock, and the door will opened unto you.

Ask, a child crying out to his Father for more faith. Seek, be in His Word and listen for through it you will find those pearls of great price. Knock, and keep knocking on God’s door while asking that He will give you the understandings you cry for, and He will bring you in and show you all the things He has for you. He loves you and you can put it in the bank that all His Words are true; He will show you this and fulfill all your needs as you are crying out in faith.

And here is that promise that you can put in the bank concerning this matter:

Mathew 7:8 For everyone that asketh recieveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh the door is opened.

Stay in His Word and write God’s Words in your heart and meditate on them for in them are great treasures.

    :praying:

Thanks for the word of encouragement. I still am not sure where I stand so I will continue to ask and seek.

    Hey everyone,

I thought a lot about this situation today. I really felt like something was missing in my life, like life had no purpose. I read through the scriptures referenced here, and I also read through some more, especially in Romans 10. Upon reading all of these and praying, I realized that I had not truly trusted in God. I had intellectual assent to the facts of the gospel, but I never really confessed Jesus as my Lord beyond lip service.

I played the role as best I knew how when I was serving in churches. I did what I could, but I didn't have peace about much. (I'm not serving in a church now.)

As a result, today God moved on my heart, and I bowed to Jesus as Lord.

Afterward, I pulled out my ministry license and ordination certificate, and I wrote two letters to each of the churches that gave them to me, relinquishing them, as they were based on false pretenses. I intend to mail them Monday.

This has been a good day. I'm still unemployed, but I have peace in my soul now.:godisgood:

Stefan - This must all have been a very difficult thing for you to do - very humbling but when God brings you here, there is no where else to go, is there? I'm absolutely rejoicing in the fact that your heart is now where your mind went and that you are now truly a brother in Christ. I wish I was there to give you a hug and you could see my tears of joy. God is so good. SOOOO good.
