Suppose Germany ( victors over Europe, Africa, North America) and Japan (occupying Asia and Oceania) had won WW II. Do you think they would eventually have went to war with each other for total world domination?

My guess is they would have divided the world up into zones of interest.

I, for one, don't think Hitler would have ever taken North America. After conquering Europe, it would have been in his best interest simply to negotiate a truce. If he had conquered all of Europe and Russia, he would have already had the largest empire in modern history.

Interesting hypothesis. Any thoughts on what the divisions of interest might be?

Roughly, Asia/Pacific vs. Europe/Atlantic. Italy had interests in Africa.

Japan, all of Russia east of the Urals, China, India, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, Australia.

The rub may have come over the Mid-East and its oil and also over who controlled the United States and Canada.

Both probably would have set up puppet governments in many countries ... and that like the Warsaw Pact countries probably would have unraveled over time.

    Aha! Something about Japan!

Consider this. Ever since "coming out" of life as a national hermit in the 1860s due to Admiral Perry's "black ships," Japan has been leery of Russia. This lead to the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905, of course, which Japan handily won.

So I believe that had Hitler defeated Germany, Japan would have become very nervous about having such a powerful war machine so close. Look at a map. My island of Hokkaido is not so far from Russia. In fact, from the northernmost city of Wakkanai, on a clear day you can see the Kurile Islands, disputed between Russia and Japan and currently held by Russia.

Until Jesus returns there will always be war.
