Mrs Salty just got home from work last night and is sound asleep. So I can sneak on the net right now, and of course, I came to Baptist Board.

So anyways, I have lived in this house for seven years - wow - all the stuff in the attic!

I found some Penny's catalogs form 1994 among other things.

So what kind of junk do you have in your attic? When do you plan on cleaning out your attic? When does your wife want you to clean out the attic? How much does she want you to throw away? How much do you plan on throwing away?

    Other thoughts?

From the previous owner? Another 35 years and they will have historical value.

    Haven't you moved yet???

Attics - touchy subject in this household. We have lived here for almost 11 years, facing another move and still not unpacked from that move. Goodness knows what is up there now, but whatever it is my dh can't bear to part with it. He is convinced it will come in useful one day but almost 11 years on I am wondering when that day will come. We have so much stuff in our attic + the original boxes of stuff even if the item is long gone.
I would like it all cleared out like yesterday but dh isn't up to it. How much would I like thrown away ?- more than dh can bear to throw away. I have tried the softly softly approach but have to work out how to approach it now.

My attic is simply the space below the roof and never intended for storage, just as my cellar is just that and not living quarters.

Man, we can hardly move in the spare bedrooms for boxes. If we had overnight guests, they would have either use a tent or the igloo in winter.......

    Cheers,

    Jim

Our attic contains Christmas decorations, camping gear, luggage, and my wedding dress. I think that's about it. There isn't much because I'm able to access it and keep it tidy.

Just don't ask about my dh's man-cave in the basement. I don't venture down there for fear I'll get lost and never come out alive.

    Hi Sheila,

I am posting now and then. We are well.I am waiting for surgery on my right eye. For the time being I am blind in that eye...almost...blurry!

Tanner is going for a flight next friday..going to Georgia with Mary and his mother to visit with Jonella and kiddies.

    Cheers, bless,

    Jim

    Hi again Jim

I don't want to stray too far from the OP, but I hope Tanner enjoys his flight. Is he coming up 3 in August? Doesn't time fly by?
Rob had his tarrsoraphy extended a few weeks ago and may need more ocular plastic surgery. Otherwise all is well here. Daughter wants us to move to be closer to her - hence the dreaded ventures into the attic to try and sort it out. Even the thought of it can be too much for Rob, bless him.

    Blessings

    Sheila

I have a large Indian teapot in my attic. It was there when I moved in.

It stands six feet tall and under the layers of dust is intricate artwork.

I am not joking. I don't know what to do with it, so I'll just leave it there. Maybe it's worth a billion dollars on antique's roadshow but I'll never know cause it weighs too much to bother with.
