    I, and the vast majority of evangelical Christians, believe this to be completely inaccurate.

    Well, I can safely say that the vast majority of Christians that I know believe the NASB to be the most accurate Scripture we know today.

    Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
    In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
    Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. pro. 3:5-7

    Well if we're going to say witch ever one fits you best, then maybe I should fire up the presses, and print my own. would you say it was Gods word?
    I'll print bible/holy bible on the cover, change words, take out verses, you know, make it to fit my fancy...
    then everybody will love it, I'll even change or replace words like, hell, sin, wickedness.....:tonofbricks:

    "Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;" Deu. 11:16

    Can you show me one of the Bibles that is supported by this board remove the words "hell", "sin", "wickedness" where it should be in the text?? I'd love to see it since you made the assertion.

    IF you were to decide to make a new Bible version that was faithful to the manuscript evidence, did it with prayer and kept yourself accountable to other believers and translation experts, then I'd be all over supporting you. But to make your own bible to fit your fancy, then I'm sorry, it's not good. Of course you also have now made the assertion that all of the modern versions were made to fit someone's fancy and I'd love to see suppport for that too.

    NIV - Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them.

    ESV - Take care lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and(B) serve other gods and worship them;

    NASB - Beware that your hearts are not deceived, and that you do not turn away and serve other gods and worship them.

    If I were you, I'd take heed to these words. Be careful what idols you place in your life.

    This is not what we are talking about, and I have a sneaking suspicion that you are aware of that.
    Solid Evangelicals would never support a "fit my fancy" translation. We are talking about scholars making a dedicated effort to retain Gods Holy in the language of the people.

    One other thing, maybe someone has the reference. I understand the Pilgrims only used the Geneva Bible and refused to use that new fangled "King James Version"

    ps - in that other thread ( post # 24) where I mentioned about the KJV being the 7th translation which took seven years... - I was only quoting from the link...

    ...if the King James Version was good enough for the Apostle Paul, then its good enough for me...
