Bad night for Gators

    It was a long night for Gator fans, last night. South Carolina handed our rears to us on a platter.

    I have to believe Addazio is going to be sacrificed. Too many Gator fans I know want someone's blood. A few wouldn't mind it being Meyer's.

    Hard to believe that Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida are combined for a 15-16 record. I still believe that Richt is going to be fired. Miles may have escaped for one more year.

    Florida looked bad.

    I think Meyer is OK right now. They are more upset with him due to the off field problems. For the last year or so, it has been pointed out that he passed Steve Spurrier's team problem of 12 years in 4.

    It was good to see Danny Wueaffel and the old ball coach together again, brings back good memories. Danny was talking up the old ball coach this past week rather heavy. But every time he speaks he speaks of Spurrier. As one of the talking heads down here says, with Danny, it is the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and Spurrier.

    Maybe next year will be better.

    A buddy of mine was very close to Danny at NOBTS. He privately is not so fond of Steve.

    I personally think Spurrier has had some antics and things that are not the best in the world. I have more than a few friends in the media, officiating, etc. that have nothing but bad things to say about him. But there's something lovable about him. I just can't hate him like some TN/GA people do.

    I've never seen that. Been with the two of them and a few others many times and they seem to be best of friends. Even Bobby Bowden has said many times, he wishes he was as close with some of his players as those two are (and he is rather close with many). They have spoke at Christians events many times down here.

    Now he and Shane aren't as close as they were, Shane believes Steve let Danny be the teachers pet at Washington. I believe there is some truth in that because Danny had a rather weak arm.

    But with all that said, it was still a very bad night.
