Jesus washes the feet of those who are His disciples!!

.....I think this "art" is stupid. It is meant to be inflammatory. The artist depicted this particular scene just to get a rise out of people.
Agree, and I believe it goes beyond stupid, it's blasphemous.
The article emphasizes (twice) this passage:
"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt..." (Lk 6:27-29)
We're told to love OUR enemies. Never are we told to love God's enemies:
Are we told to hate God's enemies?
Who are God's enemies?
How do you determine who the enemies of God are?
Isn't everyone, as we are all sinners, enemies of God in one way or another?
Just curious about the above.

Who are the enemies of God? You and I are the enemies of God before grace steps in. We are no better or worse than Osama bin Laden according to God's perfect standards.
It is a pretty common tactic to use something absurd or extreme to prove a point. Instead of being meant to simply get a rise out of people, it's meant to prove a point. Jesus, as the Son of Man, came to serve and give his life for many. This picture illustrates this perfectly, I think.
The Psalm quotation is taken out of context here to prove a point it cannot make - that we are supposed to hate God's enemies, as if we knew who those were to begin with.
Whoops! The title was supposed to be "Osama," not "Obama."
For some people there isn't much difference.

Give your take of the passages I referenced. Who do you say the enemies, the dogs, the swine are? We've been warned about them, so evidently they're real, they exist.
As far as we know, Jesus washed Judas' feet. So, knowing that, we can see that Jesus did wash the feet of the unrepentant sinner.
With that said, I think this "art" is stupid. It is meant to be inflammatory. The artist depicted this particular scene just to get a rise out of people.
Its highly doubtful that the scenero found in the Upper Room---was ever intended to be repeated in the Oval Office or anywhere remotely near United Nations headquarters
The lesson Jesus was giving to his disciples is one we should apply in our own lives.

What does Obama and all the other "Yeh-whos" found in the OP's cartoon have to do with the Kingdom of Heaven??? What does Jesus washing Obama's feet have to do with advanceing God's coming Kingdom???
Absolutely. As far as we know, Jesus washed Judas' feet. So, knowing that, we can see that Jesus did wash the feet of the unrepentant sinner.
To be fair, Jesus often healed people on the Sabbath to provoke the religious establishment so He could teach the truth about God's intent for Sabbath.
Good point. This is meant to convey a message, not just to rile up a bunch of good old boys who believe Jesus died for everyone who isn't a US enemy.
Christ came to serve and give his life. Him washing the feet of these is an effort to portray the love and compassion shown at the cross.
