So? Are you still His enemy?Hey Aaron, you, me, and bin Laden entered this world as enemies of Christ.
i believe it goes beyond stupid, it's blasphemous.
The article emphasizes (twice) this passage:
"love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt..." (lk 6:27-29)
we're told to love our enemies. Never are we told to love god's enemies:
So? Are you still His enemy?
There's a lot that Jesus did that none of us can or even would do.
If I saw Ben Laden [sic], my first thought would not be to wash his feet nor even witness to him.
But I would pray over his dead body thanking God that this evil man had met his just reward.
What????????
So...anyone else see anything besides supposed blasphemy in this picture? Isn't it a fair symbol of the love and service Jesus humbled himself to offer all of us?
Did Jesus serve sinners when he walked the earth? Did he heal the sick, give sight to the blind, cause the lame to walk, and raise the dead? After he did this he would say go and sin no more. So they must have been sinners before he performed these miricales. And the way I understand scripture he washed Judas feet.

Glory Hallelujah! Americans actually exhibiting righteous anger! Maybe there is hope for us after all!"Heavenly Sanctuary had contracts with several malls in the Seattle area to hang these posters advertising their conference, but no sooner had the posters gone up than angry calls began flooding the malls. Many people -- but, it seems, mostly Christians -- were offended at the image of Jesus washing Osama Bin Laden’s feet”.
“There was such an outcry that each of the malls decided to go back on their contract and take the posters down. The Christian College that Heavenly Sanctuary was renting space from to host the Conference also canceled their contract. Brad had to scramble to find a secular venue (which, ironically, had no problems with the poster)."
Maybe there is hope for us after all!"What does this say about how many American Christians envision Jesus?"
Well, duh, yeah. And they are correct. He wouldn't wash the feet of that murderous, treacherous, scheming, killer of thousands of innocent people! And it has nothing to do with patriotism.“Obviously, the protesters believe that Jesus would not wash Osama Bin Laden’s feet.”
But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mt 15:24
Christ came unto His own. Not to the Greeks, or the Romans, or the Persians, or the Egyptians; He came to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. It's like the brazen serpent that was lifted up in the wilderness; it wasn't made or lifted up for the Greeks, or the Romans, or the Persians, or the Egyptians; it was lifted up for Israel.
After He had washed the disciples feet and explained why He did it, He said "I do not speak concerning all of you". He did not
speak concerning Judas.
Thank you Amy. Excellent observation.

But I would pray over his dead body.....
...thanking God that this evil man had met his just reward.
......I'm glad I see things much differently than you do.
"... I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I get....."
One question for you.
Do you immediately offer, without fail, Jesus Christ as Savior to every single person that you meet? If you sincerely believe that you carry the antodote to the fatal sting and it is your God given duty to bring as many as possible to Christ and save them from eternity in hell any answer other than the affirmative is a miserable failure on your part
Then I fail to see your point. No, only because of the work of Christ.
.....Let me ask you, kyredkneck...would YOU share the Gospel with Osama Bin Laden?
As far as the painting cited in the OP, might as well picture Osama receiving communion.
Christ's washing the disciples' feet had nothing to do with the offer of the Gospel to the world. It is the privilege of sanctification, and of intimate fellowship that is offered only to those who are already made whole and have a part in Christ, who are already clean every whit.
The painting is saying that these world leaders and butchers have fellowship with Christ. It is indeed blasphemous. It's interesting that those who claim to know Christ and boast of intimate fellowship with Him would try to defend the painting.
I'd pull the .22 mag mini-revolver from my pocket and hold him at gunpoint until the authorities arrived and in the meantime I'd call for backup from family and friends for more firepower...
...to hold him with, and if he made a wrong move; well, it wouldn't be the gospel he'd get.
Kyredkneck...
Thats the spirit..more firepower. No sharing the gospel...more firepower!
Of course not...blow his brains out.
By the way...I'm just wondering. Do you actually walk around with "firepower" in your pocket all the time??? The way you brought it up, it gave the impression you are always "packin", so to speak.
Do you walk around ARMED all the time?
I happen to live in the great wonderful state of Kentucky as you do, and I dont know ANYONE who walk around "packin" all the time. I sure dont. Its unimaginable.
It has nothing to do with the topic. so if you dont want to get into it, thats fine. No big deal.
