StopZilla received pretty poor ratings on CNet from people who have used it. Pretty scary stuff about getting your credit card charged.

Personally, I'd recommend using MalwareBytes. Download and install it, re-boot your computer into Safemode (usually by pressing F8 when the computer's re-booting; it should go to a screen that allows you to choose between booting normally, safemode without networking (the one you should choose), and safemode with networking), and run malwarebytes. Then re-boot your computer normally.

Trotter may have some other ideas; he's pretty good with this stuff.

Edited to add: You could probably run malwarebytes without re-booting into "safemode without networking"; but I recommend doing so to prevent any network connections the malware tries to make.

    Go to pcsafety.us.

Use Malarebytes. Go to the site, go to tools, then find malwarebytes and run it.

You may also want to use Mcafee Stinger.

If you can't get it at pcsafety.us, go to c-net, search for malwarebytes in their search, and download it.

Also, microsoft.com has totally free anti vuirus software.

Thank you so much for your help. I do have antivirus software (Norton) but it got through anyway. I ended up taking it to the Geek Squad and paid a pretty penny but they are cleaning it for me. Thanks again!!

Did they kiss you afterwards? Sorry, but there is no way I would ever take my computer to Geek Squad... I know too many things that happen with them.

A friend of mine who does this stuff for a living set up a website just for this, http://spyware-asylum.com/

Next time go there and choose your version of Windows. He has step-by-step instructions that include screen shots, as well as directions of where to post the logs from the scans. i would trust him with my computer and that is saying A LOT.
