    I like this one too:

    1. Crown him with many crowns,
    the Lamb upon his throne,
    Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
    all music but its own.
    Awake, my soul, and sing
    of him who died for thee,
    and hail him as thy matchless King
    through all eternity.

    2. Crown him the Lord of life,
    who triumphed o'er the grave,
    and rose victorious in the strife
    for those he came to save.
    His glories now we sing,
    who died, and rose on high,
    who died, eternal life to bring,
    and lives that death may die.

    3. Crown him the Lord of peace,
    whose power a scepter sways
    from pole to pole, that wars may cease,
    and all be prayer and praise.
    His reign shall know no end,
    and round his pierced feet
    fair flowers of paradise extend
    their fragrance ever sweet.

    4. Crown him the Lord of love;
    behold his hands and side,
    those wounds, yet visible above,
    in beauty glorified.
    All hail, Redeemer, hail!
    For thou hast died for me;
    thy praise and glory shall not fail
    throughout eternity.

    Built on the Rock the church doth stand,
    Even when steeples are falling;
    Crumbled have spires in every land,
    Bells still are chiming and calling,
    Calling the young and old to rest,
    But above all the soul distressed,
    Longing for life everlasting.

    We are God's house of living stones,
    Built for His own habitation;
    He fills our hearts, his humble thrones,
    Granting us life and salvation;
    Were two or three to seek His face,
    He in their midst would show His grace,
    Blessings upon them bestowing.

    Here is one of my favorites:

    The Day is Past and Gone

    The day is past and gone
    The evening shade appears
    Oh, may we all remember well
    The night of death draws near

    We lay our garments by
    Upon our beds we rest
    So death will soon disrobe us all
    Of what we here posess

    Lord, keep us safe this night
    Secure from all our fears
    May angels guard us while we sleep
    Till morning light appears

    And if we early rise,
    And view the unwearied sun,
    May we set out to win the prize,
    And after glory run

    And when our days are past
    And we from time remove
    Oh, may we in thy bosom rest
    Thy bosom of thy love

    Tarry With Me, O, My Saviour

    Tarry with me, O my Savior,
    For the day is passing by;
    See! the shades of evening gather,
    And the night is drawing nigh.

    Deeper, deeper grow the shadows,
    Paler now the glowing west,
    Swift the night of death advances;
    Shall it be the night of rest?

    Feeble, trembling, fainting, dying,
    Lord, I cast myself on Thee;<-----------love this line right here!!!
    Tarry with me through the darkness;
    While I sleep, still watch by me.

    Tarry with me, O my Savior,
    Lay my head upon Thy breast
    Till the morning; then awake me—
    Morning of eternal rest.

    Let all mortal flesh keep silence...awesome.

    Right up there with that is "O Thou In Whose Presence," although I've never heard anyone do it in a calm, worshipful manner and unchanged lyrics apart from Fernando Ortega.

    O Thou, in Whose presence my soul takes delight
    On Whom in affliction I call
    My comfort by day, and my song in the night,
    My hope, my salvation, my all.

    Where dost thou, dear Shepherd.
    Resort with thy sheep,
    To feed them in pastures of love?
    Say, why in the valley of death should I weep,
    Or alone in this wilderness rove?

    Oh why should I wander, an alien from Thee,
    Or cry in the desert for bread?
    Thy foes will rejoice when my sorrows they see,
    And smile at the tears I have shed.

    He looks, and ten thousands of angels rejoice,
    And myriads wait for His word;
    He speaks and eternity, filled with His voice,
    Re-echoes the praise of the Lord.

    Dear Shepherd, I hear and will follow Thy call,
    I know the sweet sound of Thy voice.
    Restore and defend me, for Thou art my all,
    And in Thee I will ever rejoice.

    how about this one:
    This is how we sing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMABVIMHPkc

    Jesus, Thou art the sinner’s Friend;
    As such I look to Thee;
    Now, in the fullness of Thy love,
    O Lord, remember me.

    Remember Thy pure Word of grace,
    Remember Calvary’s tree,
    Remember all Thy dying groans,
    And then remember me.

    Thou wondrous Advocate with God,
    I yield my soul to Thee;
    While Thou art pleading on the throne,
    Dear Lord, remember me.

    Lord, I am guilty, I am vile,
    But Thy salvation’s free;
    Then, in Thine all abounding grace,
    Dear Lord, remember me.

    Howe’er forsaken or despised,
    Howe’er oppressed I be,
    Howe’er forgotten here on earth,
    Do Thou remember me.

    And when I close my eyes in death,
    And human help shall flee,
    Then, then, my dear redeeming God,
    O then remember me.

    Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art; Thou my best Thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

    Be thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word; I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord; Thou my great Father, I Thy true son; Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

    Be Thou my battle shield, sword for the fight; Be Thou my dignity, thou my delight; Thou my soul's shelter Thou my high Tow'r; Raise Thou me heav'nward, O Power of my power.

    Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise, Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
    Thou and Thou only, first in my heart, high King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

    High King of Heaven, my victory won, May I reach Heaven's Joys, O bright Heaven's Sun!
    Heart of my own heart, what 'er befall, Still be my Vison,
    Oh Ruler of all.

    My all time favorite Hymn right here...

    And if you find yourself thinking "Gee, where do I know that from?"...

    It is the opening theme song at the beginning of J. Vernon McGee's radio broadcast. :wavey:

    Along with dating back to 1787, here are couple of other historical tidbits...

    1) This Hymn was a favorite of President Andrew Jacksons wife
    2) This Hymn was sung at Robert E Lee's funeral

    One more of the Old good ones:

    Grace, ’tis a charming sound,
    Harmonious to mine ear;
    Heaven with the echo shall resound,
    And all the earth shall hear.

    Grace first contrived the way
    To save rebellious man;
    And all the steps that grace display
    Which drew the wondrous plan.

    Grace first inscribed my name
    In God’s eternal book;
    ’Twas grace that gave me to the Lamb,
    Who all my sorrows took.

    Grace led my roving feet
    To tread the heavenly road;
    And new supplies each hour I meet,
    While pressing on to God.

    Grace taught my soul to pray
    And made mine eyes o’erflow;
    ’Twas grace which kept me to this day,
    And will not let me go.

    Grace all the work shall crown,
    Through everlasting days;
    It lays in heaven the topmost stone,
    And well deserves the praise.

    O let Thy grace inspire
    My soul with strength divine
    My all my powers to Thee aspire,
    And all my days be Thine.

    Amen to that. Our ensemble has sung it a few times, a capella, and it's one of my favorites.

    That's my all time favorite. Temporary ones come along, but this is my life's hymn. Wish I could live up to it. Guess if I did it wouldn't need to be my prayer anymore though and then I'd have to get a new favorite. Eekers!

    Seeing how Tues March 1st is St. David's Day..... William Williams (Welsh Bard)

    We have, 'Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah',and 'O'er the gloomy hills of darkness', but one of the greatest of all his hymns has been translated like this, and it is so typical of Williams:

    Speak, I pray Thee, gentle Jesus!
    O, how passing sweet Thy words,
    Breathing o'er my troubled spirit
    Peace which never earth affords!
    All the world's distracting voices,
    All the enticing tones o fill,
    At Thy accents mild, melodious,
    Are subdued, and all is still.

    And he goes on:

    Tell me Thou art mine, O, Saviour,
    Grant me an assurance clear,
    Banish all my dark misgivings,
    Still my doubting, calm my fear.
    O, my soul within me yearneth
    Now to hear Thy voice divine;
    So shall grief he gone for ever,
    And despair no more be mine.

    Along with some of the others already mentioned here is one of my favorites:

    Praise to the Lord, The Almighty

    Praise to the Lord,
    the Almighty, the King of creation.
    O my soul, praise him,
    for he is thy health and salvation!
    All ye who hear,
    now to his temple draw near;
    join me in glad adoration!

    Praise to the Lord,
    who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
    surely his goodness
    and mercy here daily attend thee.
    Ponder anew
    what the Almighty can do,
    who with his love doth befriend thee.

    Praise to the Lord!
    O let all that is in me adore him!
    All that hath life and breath,
    come now with praises before him!
    Let the amen sound from his people again;
    gladly forever adore him.

    Also, I probably shouldn't admit this, but sometimes when I'm feeding my critters I like to sing:

    All creatures of our God and King
    Lift up your voice and with us sing,
    Alleluia! Alleluia!

    Thou burning sun with golden beam,
    Thou silver moon with softer gleam!

    O praise Him! O praise Him!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
