Cooking on our Big Green Egg smoker and grill!

I put an 8 lb. pork shoulder on it at 5 a.m. this morning, it will come off at 5 this evening, and the bone will pull out clean, and we'll make pulled-pork with it.

Oh yeah, about 2-3 hours before it comes off, we wrap it in bacon, 2 lbs, then wrap it in foil, and it all combines together in the pulled-pork. The in-laws will be heading over I'm sure, since they live across the street and love this! No, we don't cook this one very often, but it is good!

Also, avid Oakland Raiders fan. :saint:

Weight-training (though right now have possible rotator-cuff tear)

    Camping

Reading, but that is more a calling than a hobby.

Ohio State Buckeyes Fan, football mainly.

Brother, I really like sushi, but no, have never prepared it. There is an excellent restaurant here that has great sushi! I finally got my wife to try it, now she loves it too!

I take it you make your own?

I enjoy a little sushi now and then, especially salmon. And I love barbecuing. We've got a couple of nice steaks in the freezer that we bought down in Sapporo that we'll grill on our little balcony if the next door neighbor ever takes down her laundry. (We live in a 5th floor apartment.)

Where we go for both the sushi and barbecue is a Korean place named "Five Star" where they have a grill set right in the table, and you grill and then eat with your chopsticks right off the fire. Yum!

I'm a huge fan of games. First and foremost are card games. Rook (a form of Whist with a special deck by Parker Bros), Spades, Gin, Euchre, and Hearts. I also play games with special decks like Phase 10, SkipBo and Miles Bourne. I don't gamble, but I used to love poker, and still play poker and blackjack on the computer. I know about a dozen variations of solitaire.

Backgammon is another game I love to play. I made a backgammon set in woodshop in high school that is probably my most treasured possession.

And just about any party board game can keep me entertained.

I don't care for chess or Monopoly because I don't have a lot of patience. I don't care a lot for video games either.

So, for our VBS, the children earn tickets each day (they are custom made and look kind of like Monopoly money) for things like bringing a friend or knowing your Bible verse. The tickets are used at the end of the week for the fair on Friday night where they can play carnival games, do the bounce house and buy things at the "store". So Saturday night after VBS (we do it Monday to Friday), a bunch of the teens got together and played poker - with the VBS tickets that were collected at the fair. I thought that was brilliant. ROTFL!

Have you grilled fish on a cedar plank? I highly commend that as a grilling technique!

Re cedar plank fish- Do you reuse the plank, or is it a one time deal because of bacteria?
