Civil War Reenactment

Enjoy the program, its usually a lot of fun. But look out for the language factor with kids, a lot of these guys take their realism to extreems and soldiers are not always known for mild language.

 

Lots of fun. So was public hangings.

Just for fun I checked online, the last public hanging in the United States was in Kentucky on August 14, 1936.

 

I was thinking of England in the 1800's. Public hangings became so . . . disgusting that they were ended and England began to ship felons to the colonies and Australia.

I don't think historical mass killings should become amusements. Or should Germany stoke up some "for fun" gas ovens?

 

You are absolutely right. 'Rock/scissor/paper' battles are a much better way to teach the kids about the Civil War.

 

These days kids think that meat is made in the back room of a supermarket. Half don't know that an animal must die for them to eat meat. Most have never seen a dead person. Many think computer games are real life. No wonder the concept of the blood of Jesus has gone out of fashion.

 

And that relates to Civil War reenactments how?
