"Could" or "Couldn't" (Care Less)?

Perhaps too much back in those days, but then also thought of communist takeover and American dominance.

Actually language would be the least of it.....Nazi Germany's goal was complete European dominance. From a religious viewpoint, I think you know they had developed there own Nazi Religion off of Teutonic Paganism. They were also driving to make slaves of the Slavs & eventually take over their lands (Beginning with Poland & Czechoslovakia) ....I think we can safely assume the Britons would be considered 2nd class citizens....no matter what they tell you.

My favourite is Brass Monkey Weather for really cold weather, I would explain but it could impinge on the code of conduct rules so you will have to google it if you are interested.

 

Brass monkey is a naval term referring to a specific part of the ship. "Cold enough to freeze the balls off the brass monkey" Not swearing at all.

The monkeys were brass plates to hold the canon balls.

The phrase "I could care less" means that they care but could care less than they do. The correct way of saying that is "I couldn't care less", which "I don't care at all."

 

The latter makes more sense to me, though it is not a subject I would probably tend to overthink.

 

The correct use of language is important to clear communication. And particularly for preachers, where the mis-use of the language harms your credibility.

The decline in language skills has reached the networks and the national publications.

I'll give you the worst example. "You can get it for free."

It's everywhere.
