Chowmah, you have to view those scriptures in the Light of the whole of Gods council regarding this very important topic.

To say that christians are still under the ((DEATH GRIP)) of the the Old covenant Law, is a MAMMOTH error. A severe error.

Here is some scriptural thruth that will help you greatly regarding this tremendous error you are clinging to....

Hello Alive in Christ. You sure do use a lot of scripture out of the book of Galatians to prove your point. The book of Galatians is a book containing 6 very short chapters. In these 6 chapters circumcision is mentioned 16 times. The commandments are not mentioned at all. Not once. The law of circumcism is one of the carnal ordinances of the law that were nailed to the cross. The “many” will try and tell you that the ordinances and the ten commandments are simply parts of the law and are not separate from one another. In preaching that they will point to a scripture thats speaking of circumcision and then apply that scripture to Gods 10 commandments. This is done to extreme in the book of Galatians. Scripture below separates the law, the commandments and the ordinances

2 KINGS 17 [36] But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.[37] AND the statutes, AND the ordinances, AND the law, AND the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

AND means AND

1 COR. 7 [19] Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

And although the law of circumcision was nailed to the cross Alive in Christ, Gods law (the 10 commandments) are to be kept.

Seems to me that almost all the scriptures used by those who wanna do away with Gods 10 commandments come out of the writings of Paul. I really do not think it is done intentionally now, although scripture points out that is was a conspiracy at the start. But..to what end?

ACTS 25 [7] And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove. You fundementally make the same mistake over and over again, you point out that "the promise" of both covenants is the same but fail to clearly see the terms of both covenants are not the same and yet you present the terms of the Old Covenant as the terms of the New Covenant. That is a fundemental misunderstanding of the entire scriptures. As long as you make this fundemental error you will do nothing but pervert the scriptures.

Chowmah, if you dont somehow get a grip on the difference between the "old covenant" and the "new covenant" you will be in confusion for the entirety of your christian life. A great place to start Romans and Galatians. Also, go to a christian book store and tell them you are looking for material regarding that topic. Their will be lots of options.

In footnotes of the KJB, iniquity equals lawlessness. You can find this in 2 THES. 2 verse 7. And the many have come in the name of JESUS saying we need not keep GODS 10 commandments. Practice to break one ya break them all according to scripture

Jesus himself tells us that “the many” will not enter the Kingdom. And he explains why. They are workers of iniquity. They do not keep Gods law. HIS 10 commandments.

ISAIAH 24 [3] The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.[4] The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.[5] The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, BROKEN THE EVERLASTING COVENANT.[6] Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, AND FEW MEN LEFT.

Well, here we are. The BOTTOM LINE. The DAY OF THE LORD (when Christ returns) and again the Word says that only a few will be saved to the kingdom.

LEV.24 [8] EVERY SABBATH he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by AN EVERLASTING COVENANT.

Is this the everlasting covenant that they broke?

JEREMIAH 16 [19] O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, THE GENTILES shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

In Jeremiah we find what will happen to the Gentiles when Jesus returns.

Paul was the primary vessel that God chose to reveal the fullness of New Covenant doctrine. No different than Moses or Abraham being selected by God for His purposes. But New covenant doctrine can be found all through the scriptures.

You sure do use a lot of scripture out of the book of Galatians to prove your point.

There is a whole lot of New Covenant truth in that book. I could have gone to Romans, or Hebrews, etc, but Galatians is a virtual treasure trove of New Covenant truth.

Look, I believe in keeping the commandments of God as much as you do. HOwever, where we differ is over the motive and design for keeping them as well as the continuation of Levitical ceremonial and national civil commandments. You place yourself under the Old Covenant where keeping the commandments is necessary to obtain eternal life and heaven but which is clearly stated to be impossible for fallen man (Rom. 3:19-20). The Old Covenant presents keeping the commandments as the CAUSE or grounds for obtaining eternal life and heaven

On the other hand, the New Covenant also emphasizes keeping the commandments but not as the cause or grounds for obtaining eternal life and heaven but as the CONSEQUENCES of New Covenant Salvation results of already having in possession of eternal life already and certainty of heaven.

The difference between the Old and New Covenant is not keeping the commandments but what position keeping the commandments has in relationship to the covenants. It is the difference between cause versus consequences and that is the difference between you and Paul and between you and me. You place yourself under the Old Covenant mode of commandment keeping where it is the cause and grounds to obtain eternal life and heaven whereas, Paul and I are under the New Covenant mode of commandment keeping where it is the consequence of already possessing eternal life and heaven as a free gift.

The Old Covenant cannot impart the DESIRE and DELIGHT in keeping the Law of God because it has no INTERNAL POWER to change the want to of man. The New Covenant imparts a new heart and a new spirit or a new want to that delights in the Law of God after the inward man who keeps the commandments of God out of LOVE not out of fear, becuase of salvation not in order to obtain salvation.

You try to mix the two and they do not mix and that is precisely why the book of Galatians was written to condemn those who attempt to mix them. They preached "another gospel" that was a mixture of repent and believe in Christ PLUST do this and live. That is your position and it is condemned as "another gospel."

In addition the New Covenant does away with all the LEVITICAL LAWS dealing with the Old house of God and all of the CIVIL ADMINISTRATIVE laws dealing with God's people as a NATIONAL ENTITY that exercises civil authority over a people. The New Covenant incoporates all the MORAL PRINCIPLES found in the Old Covenant as well as all the commandments dealing with the NEW house of God - the congregation and its ordinances. However, in the book of Galatians those who preach "another gospel" attempted to include all ceremonial laws (circumcision) involved in the Old house of God with the New Covenant. You cannot mix them (Gal. 3:12) without coming under the condemnation of Galatians 1:8-9 and that is precisely where you are now - under that specific condemnation due to your mixture type position.

The New Covenant was made with the nation of Israel, but the Christian partakes in the spiritual blessings of the New Covenant through faith in Christ.

In 1 Timothy 1:9-11, the law was not made for the "righteous" but for the "lawless":

1 Timothy 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Those who say we are still "under the law" place themselves under the "curse of the law"...this means that these people must keep the law PERFECTLY and its ENTIRETY:

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Christ has redeemed us from the "curse of the law" by being made a "curse" for us:

The Old Testament Law Was a Temporary Covenant:

(1) It was given to prepare Israel for the coming of Christ (Galatians 3:19-25).

(2) It is abolished with Christ's coming (2 Corinthians 3:6-17).

(3) It was taken away when Christ died (Colossians 2:14-17).

Noah's covenant (Genesis 8) God gave the rainbow to symbolize his covenant with Noah and His promise never again to destroy the world with water.

Abrahamic covenant (Genesis 12:1-3,7; 13:14-18; 15) The national, physical aspects of Abraham's covenant will yet be fulfilled to the nation Israel (Jeremiah 30).

Mosaic covenant (Exodus 19:1-24). This is also called the Old Covenant (Testament), or the Law of Moses. The Mosaic covenant was a system of law God gave to Israel on Mt. Sinai. The Mosaic law was never intended as a means of salvation, which has always been received, in any age, through faith in God's revelation and on the basis of the shed blood of Christ (Romans 3:19-22; 4:3-13; Galatians 3).

Davidic covenant (2 Samuel 7:12-17). The Davidic covenant is an extension of the covenant God made with Abraham. In the Davidic covenant God reaffirmed and detailed the kingdom aspect of the Abrahamic covenant.

New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:1-33; Hebrews 8:7-13; 10:9-22). This is God's promise to give free blessing to men through Jesus Christ. The New Covenant reaffirms all promises of the Abrahamic and Davidic covenants and was given after Israel had miserably broken the Mosaic law and judgment had been pronounced by God (Jeremiah 31:32). The Apostle Paul taught that the New Covenant will be literally fulfilled following the church age (Romans 11:25-27).

Where did I say that everyone knows the Lord? Please refrain from your unsubstantiated claims.

Concerning the New Covenant:

This covenant is not made with Gentiles, nor even with the church as so often erroneously stated. It is the new covenant to be made with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. This is fully confirmed in the Epistle to Hebrews (Hebrews 8:8-13). The old covenant is the law-covenant, which the Lord did not make with Gentiles, but with Israel exclusively. The new covenant is of grace. The ground of this new covenant is the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ, His blood, as we learn from His own words when He instituted the supper. He died for that nation, and therefore all Israel will yet receive the promised blessing of this new covenant. I was simply listing all the "covenants"...you said there was more than one. It is obvious that born again believers (Jews and Gentiles) know the Lord and are partakers of the spiritual blessings of the New Covenant. The fulfillment of the New Covenant will occur when Jesus Christ returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem. That is the time when EVERYONE (speaking of the nation of Israel) will KNOW THE LORD!

We live in the dispensation of GRACE...the dispensation of the Law ended at the cross where ALL sin was judged. We no longer live under the "curse of the law" because Jesus Christ was made a "curse" for us in order to redeem us from its (the Law) curse. (Galatians 3:10-13)

I believe the Holy Ghost DID NOT get this prophecy wrong which is written in Deut.30

Honest Abe heard Gods "voice" and so he kept His commandments

No matter how hard you try, no matter how many Scripture verses (Old Testament mixed with New Testament) you post out of context, you will never change the fact that the New Testament believer is not bound to the OT/Mosaic law. When you attempt to put everybody back under the "curse" of the law, you also put yourself under the "curse" of the law....and that sir, means you are teaching "another gospel" (Galatians 1:8-9)

First of all, you quote the Old Testament, which was specifically written to Israel and apply it to the New Testament believer. The Gentiles were never given any laws or covenants.

Your New Testament postings have nothing to do with the Old Testament law, therefore everything you are posting (OT & NT) is out of context.

I seriously doubt whether you keep all 613 commandments of the OT law..therefore you have broken the entire law (Deuteronomy 27:26; James 2:10). This means you remain under its "curse".

Galatians 1:6 states that when you turn away from the gospel of grace ALONE, you are turning away from Christ:

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

To turn back to Old Testament law and legalism is to fail to enter into God's rest (Hebrews 4)

The fulfillment of the New Covenant will occur when Jesus Christ returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem. That is the time when EVERYONE (speaking of the nation of Israel) will KNOW THE LORD!

Thats wrong, The fulfillment of the New Covenant has occured with the Death of Christ, The New Covenant was in His Blood. Matt 26:28

28For this is my blood of the new testament/covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

And Paul as a Minister to the Gentiles, was a New Covenant Minister 2 Cor 3:6

6Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

And the WILL KNOW THE LORD promise of the New Covenant has been fulfilled with the coming of the Holy Spirit, and thats why John wrote this 1 Jn 2:

20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
