After 11 months working at the Baptist seminary in Prague we head home tomorrow, Prague to London to Baltimore. Pray for good weather and soft landings. It has been a good time and quite a bit accomplished. Best however was the new friends we met, young Christians from many places in the world. Pray for them as many come from places where it is difficult to be a Christian and often even more difficult to be a Baptist.

That is a good question. If our health holds there is a strong possibility we will return to IBTS at some point in the future. Because of changes in the Czech law about long-term visas it is extremely unlikely we will be able to come back for another long stay. That being the case it will be for a maximum of 90 days. A 90 day visa is no problem, just show up at the airport and your passport is stamped. The law is that the visa is good for all the Schengen states. There are now 25 countries that abide by the Schengen agreement. What this means is that an American can visit any of these countries 90 out of any 180 day period. Long-term visas are become very expensive and the process is complicated. The major expense is we would have to buy Czech health insurance for a year. They will not accept insurance from other countries. My guess is they have been burned too often treating foreigners and never being paid and thus changed the law.

The academic dean says he would like for us to return and continue the work we have been doing, i.e. teaching English and working in the library. We do love the students we meet and become friends with.

    Thanks for your prayers.

Will you miss the Polish mania for John Paul 2 canonisation....pictures of him are everywhere I believe. My mother who is Lutheran found it vulgar and idolatris ( that is not correct but .....)

Interesting question. I do not remember seeing anything about John Paul II in Prague or the Czech Republic. I did not go to Poland this trip, but I bet it is over the top there.

Arrived home safe, tired but safe.

I'm glad you arrived home safely.

Re Poland, it was certainly "over the top" when I visited that country in 1981.
