Kindness. Love Kindness, peace, joy, Self contro, patience, Goodness
Gentleness and faithfulness are The Fruit of THe Spirit. When we are in The Fruit of THe Spirit we are showing others through Him that they can teach people to behave like Christ.

Yes, yes and did I say yes.

When Jesus talked with the average person or the sinner he stressed how we should treat each other.

The only people he came down hard on were the Pharisees, the people who placed being correct over kindness.

    I totally agree.

Unfortunately, I think more people agree in principle rather than in practice.

Some people are to "holy." Especially those who think they are more holy than the rest of us. "The middle way" is saner. In modern parlance, "good enough for government work."

Why must it be a choice? I believe you can be both.

The Scriptures speak of being angry yet not sinning and speaking the truth in love. It speaks of people knowing that others were Christians because of their love (not because they were right). More often than not I'm afraid, even common courtesy goes out the window -- forget about "love." One Christian denomination has this saying, which I really like -- "In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity."

Those who speak the truth (or, are 'right') are not always kind, and those who are kind are not always truthful. Balance is the key. You should not have one without the other. So I guess my answer is both! From Proverbs 3:3 ~ "Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart." I read a commentary once that said kindness and truth are like Siamese twins that should never be separated.
