Newt versus Paul: Round 2

Oh goodie, the negative ads have started!
Curious--why is the thread titled "Newt vs. Paul" when it is Paul that is running the negative ad?

Both candidates have fatal flaws. Perhaps (and I can't believe I am saying this) Paul less than Gingrich, but Paul's take on things is also not one that will allow him to win the election, something that Gingrich can accomplish even with his flaws.
Biggest issue I have with Newt, aside from his loose morality, is which Newt will we get once he is elected? The man who forged the bonds that gave us the Contract with America and led the 1st Repubican Congress in over 4 decades to make some sweeping chances (all since negated) or the Newt who sides with establishment liberals every chance he has if there are a few bucks in it for him?
Oh, and whomever runs will need (as will the voters) to know that this election cycle will be the nastiest, meanest spirited political event in the history of the United States. Obama, with a current approval rate less than that of Jimmy Carter or Lyndon Johnson (who dropped out of the running based on his approval rating!) believes he can still win reelection. Why? Because he has no qualms whatsoever in utterly destroying whomever runs against him. Expect his terrorist buddies to be in full force behind the scenes, with the press taking a blind eye to the activities.

Simply not true. Ron Paul's views are PERFECT for garnering support from independents and Democrats.

...At what point are you going to quit listening to Washington insiders and media clones? The numbers say if Paul gets the nomination, he has an EXCELLENT chance to beat Obama. As shown above, many democrats have already pledged their support to him, and he is the ONLY one who beats Obama in at least one poll (and is neck and neck in the others). The fact is that a bunch of Rhino's don't WANT Paul to be President, but he certainly could be.
Conventional wisdom would have said:
"Obama has no experience."
"Obama has no experience."
"Obama has no experience."
Or another, less popular conventional wisdom.
It is funny, the people who should bothered most by Paul (young folks) are his BIGGEST supporters. Young people have flocked to Ron Paul!
What poll would that be?
In the past month I don't see anyone except Romney and Gingrich having a lead over Obama and that's been temporary.

It will probably it will be Romney for the republicans vs Obama for the democrats. If the economy is doing good next November, Obama will be reelected, if not, who knows.

If Paul is attractive to that crowd, then he is not my man. One of the major purposes for the federal government under the constitution is military protection. Paul's stance on that issue is so far askance from the constitution as to make him a non-conformist even though he stands strongly in other areas.

Anyone who runs against Obama has an excellent chance to beat him, but that is not because of the strength of the candidate. Rather, it is because of the weakness of Obama and the destruction that he has dealt this nation.
Also, we must bear in mind that once the primary season is over and a candidate is chosen for the Republican ticket, that candidate, whomever he (or she!) may be will find support coming from everywhere. Most of America realizes just how bad Obama is, and just how destructive he is of America's goals, plans, and even our sovereignty as a nation. Right now, the in-fighting amongst Republican candidates is rather sad, but a necessary part of the process to select that candidate. Unfortunately, our choices are rather limited and we have already let the media make most of the decisions for us by their stories, leading debates, the spin they place on everyone, and all of the rest of that PR hatchet job that they are doing. Wish to God that they would ask THEIR candidate just one or two of the questions they hammer candidates from the other side with every day!

The poll indicates that 42 percent of registered voters in Iowa support Ron Paul, while 42 percent support Obama. A remaining 16 percent are undecided.
So again I ask, which poll is it that has Paul beating Obama?

Interesting - you state the info is based on registered voters. A good poll reports "likely voters". Also - some of those registered voters may be a Democrat - and will not be able to vote in the Republican primary.
None as stated from the link above.
Now lets look at New Hampshire :

The poll was conducted among registered Iowan voters in a hypothetical presidential general election match-up between Ron Paul and Obama.
The first major shot began with Newt who did everything he could to stop Paul from being elected in Texas. Thus, round 2 is referring to what Newt began. Those who keep up to date on these things, know how much Newt did not want Paul elected in Texas.
Please tell me how Newt attempted to stop Ron Paul from being elected to Congress when Newt was not even in Congress when Paul was first elected.
