I am not real enthused about Mitt Romney but his status as a Mormon has nothing to do with it. I don't see his error as being any more egregious in the context of a presidential candidate than a reprobate from a strong evangelical heritage or someone who’s Christianity is so liberal as to be heresy of another sort.

As long as [insert candidates name here] political beliefs were similar to mine, it wouldn't bother me too much if they were Mormon, Baptist, Pentecostal or Catholic.

And if they could defeat our current President, that would definitely be a bonus.

I believe that a good Mormon could be a lot better in the White House than a bad Baptist.

If I have a choice, then yes, Mitt's Mormonism BOTHERS me (a LOT).

If the choice is Mitt Romney or Barack Hussein Obama, then Mitt's Mormonism does not bother me nearly as much, for better a Mormon with a similar worldview than someone who is akin to Muslim Jello -- difficult to nail down and slimy.

Mormons hold the US constitution up there similar to how muslims view the hadith.

Actually, they have visions of Reconstruction with Mormons leading this nation. Do some fact checking...

    Pastor or President?

I keep hearing this same quote from others in christian circles, and it makes no sense to me. President and Pastor are both leadership positions and we should strive to have Christian godly men in BOTH of them. We need leaders that look to Jesus for guidance, not Allah, Buddah or John Smith.

That being said, where are the Christian godly leaders?

If Huckabee was running I would vote for him even though he has little chance of beating Obama.

As it is, I will hold my nose and vote for Romney simply because he is the only one that can actually win against Obama. But then, even PeeWee Herman would be better than Obama.

We need a strong Christian leader in the White House, but in this election, there are none running.

Mitt Romney's religious beliefs are not the problem. His political agenda is, but his political agenda stems in part from his religious beliefs so they go hand and hand. So in short Mitt Romney is a problem.

    1. Name the last President we had that actually looked to Jesus ---- and Jesus only

    2. Do you reckon if Huckabee won----he'd make verbal witness to Jesus and Jesus only

    3. What are the odds of the US always on a continious basis putting a Christian in the WH

Agreed. I think he is pretty liberal for a Republican, and i disagree with him on uch of what he stands for, the fact remains that he is the only one that has a chance of beating obama.

I do not disagree with any of what you are saying. This whole discussion is hypothetical, and not even close to the reality of the political and cultural makeup of our country.

I know it would be hard to get another Christian in the WH, and I only posted my thoughts on this in response to the OP.

I don't agree with Jimmy Carter's politics, but I do believe he is a born again Christian, and I do believe he looked to the Trinity for guidance. He is the only one in my lifetime that I believe I can say that about. Bill Clinton stood for whatever he thought would get him elected so he constantly changed positions on different issues. Carter's politics were wrong, but at least he stood for what he honestly believed in his heart was in the best interest of our country, and not his campaign.

Obama is so morally corrupt that his name should be banned from this forum.

And yes, I do think that Huckabee would continue to be a witness for Christ as he served as president. But that is also the reason he will never be elected.

    John
