I am amazed at the attitude of many on this forum that claim to be pastors.

Sarcasm is sometimes fun and playful, but you guys take the cake. Some of you go way beyond that.

I think that all of you pastors that are hateful should form your own convention

One down side of printed words as opposed to being vocalized is the inability to pick up on sarcasm. There may have been a lot of instances where sarcasm was meant but did not come off that way. This is when the "smilies" come in handy.

Keep in mind that this thread is not meant to demean persons per se, but to demean sarcasm, kind of in the same way the vast amount of anti-cal threads are only meant to demean calvinism not calvinists "per se".

Thank you preacher. That is so right.

But don't forget the vast amount of pro-cal threads meant to demean us regular Christians also. :saint:

The thing about preachers is that I either love em, or dont want to be anywhere around them. They leave no room for compromise as my other friends do.

Which, is how it should be.

P4T...I get the feeling that I would very much enjoy being around you.

That's an old show bro. Maude? I think she's a dominate female, or maybe just angry. It's hard to tell really.

I'm going to show my age here and confess that I used to watch that show every week.

I can't stand the feminist stuff but there sure were a lot of hilarious one liners in that show!

We are way off topic, but I have say this.

I have never once seen a feminist that was feminine.

Welcome to the Ugly Side of the BB!

While it doesn't happen that often, it is not just sarcasm...it comes down to some members being cyber bullies, with the intent of driving their prey off the board. These members believe they are the supreme authorities, and master members, and they want to control those whom they think they can push around and intimidate.

It is sad that a board that proclaims to be Christ centered allows this kind of debacle under the guise of debate.

My suggestion to you and any others who feel the sarcasm, and plain hatefulness of the "few" to report them and do it often. It is the only way to keep the Moderators apprised of this kind of activity.

I have had no less than two members come right out and tell me to leave the board if I couldn't take the heat! Their kind of heat was nothing less than pure hatefulness, and it didn't then, and never will, reflect the love of God, nor His will.

When we write and respond to others, we need to ask ourselves WWJD and WWJS (say)? And if it isn't in line with His love and grace, we need to remember the delete button is always an option. We all have a choice between send and delete!

Thanks for a great reminder that we need to be as Christ-like here as we are at church on Sunday morning. One last thought: The good of the many (on the board) can be ruined by the bad of a few. We all need to monitor and police this kind of distasteful behavior and help our Moderators to know what is offensive, hurtful and down right mean! :type:

I agree with your post. For people like me that have no real leadership position in a local church or any other Christian organization, it is bad enough. When one is talking about individuals who have been (as they claim) called by the Lord to lead a local church, minister to others, and be an example to the community, some of the posts are beyond belief. I would like to meet the local congregations that called some of the people on this board that will remain nameless in this post. I try to paint a picture in my mind between reading these posts and seeing this same person in a pulpit or holding an invitation. It is almost laughable if it were not so sad. One might as well use "Bottle of Wine, Fruit of the Vine" as the invitation song for as much good as their leadership does.

It usually centers around the subject of sovereignty or King James only. It can evolve from any subject. The latest example is when a person starts a thread asking for opinions on their former salvation state, others give their testimony to help, and the thread dengerates into someone criticizing Sunday School programs at local churches that the poster has no idea where the city is even located.

One good thing though, if these individuals are ever booted out of their local church, as they probably should have been years ago, they will be ready to step right into another occupation. I believe they call it politician.
