9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

The Spirit that is now alive in us searches Spiritual things and is shown by the Holy Spirit that lives in us the deep things of God. God reveals to the believer Spiritual things, we don't speak from man's wisdom but the wisdom we receive from the Holy Spirit (v13). The unsaved (natural) spiritually dead person doesn't receive the things the Spirit revceals they are foolishness to the spiritually dead (natural) unregenarate man. But the Spiritual the Believer walking under the control of the Spirit judgeth all things but we don't judge man for only God can judge man we can instruct them only because we have the mind of Christ, through the Holy Spirits guidence of our desire for wisdom. What was it James said, James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
The Holy Spirit will help us search the deep Spiritual Truths of God if we only ask for Him to.

 

The contexts starts early in chapter 1 – God's foolishness [the gospel] verses the Corinthian's idea of wisdom.

There's an aside in 1 Cor. 2:10 – the Spirit gives this wisdom.

Why is this important? The Spirit knows God fully.

The depths of God are the whole of him, his essence, attributes, thoughts, purpose, plans, etc.

The idea of being able to search God himself shows the power the Spirit holds – the Spirit is fully equal to God – he's up to the task of searching God.
