What do think about boys haveing earrings?

    :laugh:Reminds me of a friend of a relative I met in the mid 1980s. Middle-aged guy had one and claimed it was given to him by a man who had earned the Medal of Honor. He and his wife also used to cruise the back roads for road-kill; I can only imagine what for. He was an odd duck.

    I am surprised at the youth of the baby....surely social services could scream child abuse.....hello!!!

    The country would be up in arms if social services cried abuse at piercing the ears of a child. That is a private family matter, period. Social services oversteps their bound all the time here but they wouldn't blink twice at a pierced ear.

    Very true you can have a childs ears periced as young as 6 months BUT they have too have all there needles up too date befor they can have them done!

    What??? Don't take this wrong but ya'll have funny laws in your country. Lot's of people here have bitty babies (like almost newborn) peirced. Girls usually. No vaccines needed. We have an absolute right not to even vax our babies should we so chose (despite the medical associations who think they know better than parents). Our laws are pointed at making it safe: ie, single use kits that come presanitized.

    Here, for now at least, parents are considered to have the best interest of the child in mind and have the best perspective on the best interest of the child. We get to make these kinds of decisions. Although there is a case going on now about a parent who let a minor (12 or so) get a tatoo that was debated for a while, mostly because our public schools have rules against tatoos in order to reduce gang activity. (this tatoo was not gang related but a memorial for an older sibling who had died) No charges were brought against the parent that I know of. It just isn't up to the government to tell us how to raise our children......(yet. The gov would love to do this and the socall "international treaty for the right of the child would do just that if the US ratified, which we hopefully we won't. International law has no business inside the borders of the US.)

    Good example of how a thread can morph -from ear rings to road kill in 22 posts. It is only evil when non-baptists participate in the process.

    I have a goodly number of tatoos... They were not placed on my body by an artist with paint pot and needle, but rather by falling off of stuff that was going quite fast. :laugh: I will carry my scars into eternity for all to see, and I pray I don't go bald, less women and children be frightened forever!

    I believe earrings belong on girls and women--along with necklaces. OK, so I'm old fashioned.

    I personally am not a fan of men or boys wearing earrings. I believe that earrings are a "girl thing" and should be left to us females. It's just my opinion of course....and that of my dad who told me when I was a teenager that I'd better not be bringing home any boys with tattoos or earrings! (My dad's a Marine!)

    My husband doesn't have any tattoos or earrings. :)

    Not a hill I was willing to die on. There were others but not this one.

    I have multiple piercings in my ears. I went through an interview once and no one said a thing. Then I'm sitting in the orientation (with another gal with multiple ear piercings) and they tell me I can only wear one. Had to politely make an issue of that. I would not have taken the job had I known.

    Why would a manly male want to adorn himself like a female?

    Unless maybe he thinks he is a female trapped in a male's body.:laugh:

    God gave us males seperate traits from females for a reason. I think it's wrong to cross the line.

    There are several references in the Bible concerning earrings. One reference, where there appears to be nothing wrong with a woman wearing bracelets or earrings is found in Genesis 24. Abraham had sent his servants out to find a wife (Rebekah) for his son, Isaac. Upon finding her, they gave her an earring and bracelets for her hands. (Genesis 24:22,30,47). The references including men wearing earrings is almost universally associated with idolatry, heathen worship, immorality, homosexuality, etc. Here are some examples

    In Judges 8, Gideon had led Israel to victory over the Ishmaelites. These were men of war (the Ishmaelites) and were wearing golden earrings. Gideon’s army had taken these from their “prey.” Notice Verse 24, “And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. ( For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)” From Psalm 83:1-6 we learn that the Ishmaelites were enemies and haters of God (Verse 2). They hated God’s people, Israel (Verse 3), and they wanted to destroy them as a nation (Verses 4,5). Here, again, earrings are worn by men who want nothing to do with God or His people.

    In Exodus 32, earrings are also associated with worshipping false gods, being worn by the wives, daughters, and SONS. In Exodus 32:1 the people said, “Make us gods, as for this Moses, we wot not what is become of him.” “And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your SONS, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. (Verse 2). How many young men we see today who are wearing earrings, nose rings, and attaching ornaments to their pierced tongues, lips, eyelids, breast and navels.

    In Isaiah 3:20 the word “earrings” comes from a Hebrew word which is a prime root and means “to whisper, implying a spell as a magician; also a charmer or enchantment.” This is nothing more than demonism. As you read in Isaiah from Chapter 2:5 to Chapter 3:26, you will find that the people of Israel had forsaken God (2:6); they were lofty and filled with pride (2:12). They were idol worshippers (2:18,20); and many were homosexuals and lesbians (3:9).

    Today, this practice is nothing more than a revival from the “Hippie” movement of the 60’s and 70’s with their godless hard rock music, liquor, sex, and drugs. A person’s thinking is revealed by the way they present themselves in their talk, mannerisms, and the way they dress. God’s instruction to the Christian is found in Romans 12:12, “…that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

    I do not wish to be associated with pagans, whether it be ancient ones or hippies from the 1960"s.

    1 Timothy 2:8-10

    8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

    Here V. 8 we have instructions first for the men who are elders in the church.

    and in V. 9 we have instructions for the elders wives.

    Then:1Pe 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
    1Pe 3:2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
    1Pe 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
    1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
    1Pe 3:5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

    Here we have instructions for the wife of an unbelieving husband. She is instructed to present herself as the "holy women" in the "old time", and not as a sexual attraction.

    In fact, the Bible teaches the difference God intended for the different sexes way back in the Law:

    Deu 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

    Now, if a woman should not adorn herself and make herself an object of sexual attraction, then why would God allow a man to? Perhaps, most of the lack of instruction for men is because men didnt act so much like women until more recent history. Well, there have always been girly men, but it wasnt widely accepted until recent history.

    I think your husband should start treating your sons like boys instead of girls.

    If you treat a boy like a girl, then they just might grow up to beleive they are a girl!!!!!
