No he said he was not saved. I said what I said in response to his admission by offering him salvation

I admitted no such thing, I was paraphrasing what you have been posting.

Long, long ago, when I was a lot younger and had a bit of education, I actually thought that the Scriptures had all the answers to every problem and it was my own ignorance that couldn't find the answers. Age does bring wisdom, and as I left the academic world and saw that not all was as it would seem.

Realization started when I understood that the Scriptures teach principles especially those related to the principles of living. One of the principles was that God had ordained certain folks with gifts and understanding that help the assembly and humankind. One of those gifts was the healing arts.

There are those who seem to have the extended ability to empathize and understand beyond the surface turmoil and perceive the underlying stresses and other organic and inorganic factors that might impact both the believer and non-believer.

To that end, the educated person in the gift of healing will be eclectic with multiple tools available to approach any counseling situation. They will also be open and approachable, non-judgmental, quick to listen and slow to speak, and they will certainly be a pillar of strength to those weak in mind.

In my opinion, it is simply ignorance that drives some who have posted on these threads of the mind and the lack of empathy by them shows a startling lack in the gift of healings. They may have some knowledge and even a bit of experience, but when it comes to practical understanding they have shown an appalling lack of insight of myopic proportions.

Such a person isn't qualified to extend either guidance nor advice, much less attempt to discern what would possibly be Scripturally helpful to a person in psychological need. They have only the ability to "parrot" with much bluster and gather support to a singular perspective.

It would be far better for them to refrain from exercising the gift until they have been given it and been schooled in what area it might actually be useful to be applied.

You did say such a thing. If you are adding to and twisting what someone says you need to state such. Back to sin and mental illness. The only cure is confession and forsaking, not drugs. No drug has ever cured behavior. It only masks or holds back the real problem.

I read it as something else entirely not as an admission but it is clear as a bell you are hoping he does respond in that fashion.....now, this is getting convoluted.

I would say that you are totally on track with most the church of today which is spoken of in scripture that will take place as the time draws near.

If you wish. I took him at his word as he clearly did not understand how to get saved if he thinks confessing sin gets us saved.

    Here is what John said:

He is clearly responding to YOUR accusations.

Ahh the bliss of singleness and not having that constant dripping sound. There was no accusations, just explanation. The bottom line is that confession and forsaking is the cure for behaviour issues not drugs.

Your lack of insight is only surpassed by the lack of gentlemanly manners that should be extended to the feminine nature.

(YAWN) It must get tiring, shoveling this bull manure from thread to thread.

I suggest we stop giving the negative attention and let two certain posters sit in this dung by themselves until they learn to play nice.
