Just want to thank the mods for unwittingly banning all but one of the people I've had on my ignore lists.

It takes a LOT for me to add anyone. (what's funnier is that for two years, one continued arguing with me although I never, ever responded, and only knew that much because of seeing him quoted, lol)

In the future, I'd like to encourage you to just ask me who is on my list, and you can just go ahead and ban them right away instead of waiting.

Okay, that won't happen, but the offer is on the table. And I actually only have one left.

Hmmm - now I'm curious who you had on your list! There has only been one I'd like to add to my list but I can't since they are a mod.

That's ok. I didn't love my cruise. But if I can't go to the mountain cabin, I might cry!

Guess I know the next person to put on my ignore list, BLACKBIRD! :tongue3:

Now as for a cruise...some of them seem mighty tempting, but I do have a hard time getting past the concept of being surrounded by water and not allowed to jump off the boat. (no, you may not offer to push me off!) I love water! If I was an animal, I'd choose a dolphin.

But to be stuck on a cruise with BB members and no escape? Have you MET some of these people?! There's a spider man who thinks he's a girl (hehehe), McGruff the crime dog thinking he's a blackbird, a number of theologians that have been dead for 70+ years, people who drive on the wrong side of the road, and some girl keeps wandering through with glazed eyes while singing "Cherry Ripe" as she tiptoes past the numerous brawls. I can't even keep my own name straight half the time and end up changing it every few years, ever since y'all took away my multiple personalities!

I know someone with a beautiful mountain cabin. So do you. Starts with a G. She's working on getting it in good condition now and posted pics here and on FB. I'm itching to get my hands in the dirt and plant stuff. I say we go. LOL

Curious, what is the capacity of the Ignore List?

I have 15 on it right now, with 2 in the waiting room.

If you don't have me on ignore...

On a board this size, you could probably safely ignore around 5,000 people. To figure it out, you'd have to figure out how many numbers each member's identification has been assigned, add them up, check out vB3.25 or whatever this software is to compute its given capacity, then figure out how many numbers it can handle per user and then divide them by the number you came up with for everyone you want to ignore.

Let us know when you're done.

Why put names on a list. It is easy enough to just ignore what is said with a positive response.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I don't know about that. I was on another board (same software) and it was set to a maximum of 15 people for the ignore list. I'm pretty sure it's an admin setting.

I've never used the Ignore function, mainly because I'm a glutton for punishment.

Naw, actually watching some of our posters behave badly makes me feel pretty self-righteous about my own behavior. And feeling self-righteous is quite a stretch for some one as humble as I am. But, I can't help it. Humility is one of my most outstanding character traits.

I just wish everybody was as humble as I am.

Jim: I'm very sensitive to racism, so the only people that go on the list are those who have been obviously racist.

It's easier to avoid being tempted to respond in kind if I avoid reading their posts, which can be easy to read by accident when scrolling down a thread or just out of curiosity, so it's more about me helping myself avoid temptation than anything to do with "punishing" them.

I understand what you are saying, Gina.

Guess I learned over the years to just ignore some things said by people. On the other hand, I have responded the odd time, and got myself in trouble. Was it worth it? No! It just hurt me more. Walk away was my response. Much safer.

    Cheers,

    Jim

If I am teaching on your cruise, it will be a recording. There is no way you will get me aboard a ship.
