There is another thread about a student giving his graduation speech in Spanish.

So Vets, (we even will allow AD and NGR to participate) lets have a forum here for just us GI's to chat in military language and see if those Civvies can understand us!

Okay guys lets have some fun.

I had my final PCS in 860721. I went in my POV from USARAK to my brothers HOR. I put my Hold bagged in storage, and my HHG were in perm storage. My goodness, as I look back on my career, from BCT to AIT and then work in my DMOS which was my PMOS. (76P2)

I understand I am speaking the Army dialect of Military - but I'm sure we will understand.

    Sarge Salty

ps, I still have my P-38

When I was in the military we spoke plain English. Even the Americans I served with spoke plain English.

We had code when talking by radio, such as "pulling a Hank Snow" for moving on or changing location. That language was because we could be heard by the enemy.

    Cheers,

    Captain Jim,,,if you wish.

Salty-- What memories that brought back.

Back in my AD days in the USAF my first PCS (I started out as E-2, AFSC J42330) was with the 4453 FMS (TAC) and my second PCS, now as E-4, was with the 26 FMS (USAFE) with a short time with the 38th TRS at APO AE 09012. My DD214 was actually issued 5 days before my scheduled DEROS.

While assigned to the TNANG I was with the 118th MXS (first MAC, then ACC, then AMC) as a 2A171. Retired as an E-6 and was awarded the MSM.

(Salty, didn't know you had a P 38. They were quite an aircraft in WW2. LOL.)

Are they authorized by DOD Reg or AFI 36-2907?

but most important what was your RE code? and did you obtain a AF form 988 with your 214. I think in the Army, if you get a form 31- your 214 would arrive via the APO.

My highest award was the ARCOM. But what was your DOR - I might have a sooner one - but did obtain SFC in the VADF.
    Now if I was a 94B (translation AFSC 3M031) I would have had a P-51

Captain, did you ever wear a bunny suit?

The military language I learned and used was not what my mother or this board would ever allow.

I was in the Air Force and have no idea what you said, Salty. That was 40 years ago, and I can't remember any of the military language, although we spoke mostly English.

The only thing I still have from those days is my Air Force rain coat that I don't use since I live in the desert. I did use it a lot in Michigan and Florida, though.

Since the MACOM is expecting the AIG, it may be time to send a DF to all AD personel to prep for the FY inspection
