As of last night, 7/11 of our pastors still had no power!!

That's a greater ratio than the general public.

But fortunately, 3 of them got it back on today.

It's so crazy - and now it's snowing. :tonofbricks:

(For those who don't know, we're on Long Island - and greatly affected by Sandy)

 

Yep - and each of them without power have been ministering to others!! Those with generators have been sharing their power with neighbors, sharing resources and still continuing their job in ministry. One pastor was bringing wood for one of his assistants so that she could have heat. These guys are great.

 

Exactly. Unfortunately, the congregation is not necessarily in the position to help TOO much because of the damage at their own homes/community. But we're all pitching in to help each other the best we can. Fortunately, only one pastor's home was damaged and it is totally repairable. I've been hearing about others who aren't so fortunate. A single dad had a tree fall on both his cars and another on his house. He's driving the less damaged car around right now.

 

I've not heard of damage yet but we lost power for a time and I've heard others have had the same thing too. But IT'S SNOWING!!!!! AND STICKING!!!!!! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

All of our pastors are now back on the grid. The last one got his power back on Monday - two full weeks after they lost it. But there are still others that don't have power because their home was damaged and they cannot get power back on until the repairs have been made.
