Bob woke up with blurry vision this morning - VERY blurry vision. Because it came on so suddenly, we made an appointment with the eye doctor but everything checked out OK there. He's ordered a brain and eye CT for tomorrow morning and then there will be another test in the afternoon which will test the blood flow through the eye.

Please pray that we get a quick diagnosis and that it's nothing serious!!!! Of course I think the worst but hopefully we'll know for sure by tomorrow afternoon.

Praying... Does he suffer from migraines? Read where vision can be affected apart from pain somewhere, I think.

He has had a few migraines with aura but he had no migraine develop and his vision is really that bad suddenly. When we went to the eye doctor this afternoon, he couldn't read the biggest letter on the eye chart and with no eye changes, it's worrysome. His migraines with aura usually develop pain about 2 hours after the aura develops but this was really different than a regular aura.

Additionally, there were a few times that he lost his train of thought in the middle of talking or he said something wrong (twice in front of the eye doctor - telling me that he has to take 3 325 mg. aspirin but it was just one and then the doctor was talking about checking his corotid artery and how if the right one was blocked, it would affect the right eye - and then he asked why it would affect the left eye) so that is more concerning to me too.

But then tonight he had to work on the introduction of a song for a girl at church who will be playing it tomorrow night and he was able to listen to the song, understand what was being played, play it and get it notated so he could send it to her. That was complex thinking so I just don't know. I can't wait until we get the results of the tests tomorrow so we have a better idea. I do fear a brain tumor or other abnormality but I'm ready for whatever God has coming our way.

Well, all the results are in and .... it's nothing. CT of the eyes and brain were clear, full eye and vision workup were clear and blood work was clear. We don't know what caused it but his vision is almost back to normal (about 75-80% normal) and the doctor expects that he should have a full recovery. He'll go back in a month - sooner if there is anything else - and that's really about it!

So my plan is to keep him off of driving tomorrow and if his vision is perfect tomorrow, he can drive on Sunday. What a very strange thing this was!! Whatever the doctor could think of that would cause this, the tests showed didn't happen. Weird!

About 25 yrs ago during the winter my vision blurred suddenly. I went a few days before telling anyone (it wasn't that bad), but when I did, everyone began bombarding me with what it could be a symptom of, including diabetes and high blood pressure, so I went to the eye doctor. It took him a while but he finally figgered it out and was proud as a peacock when he did; my wire frame glasses had perfectly round lens and over the weekend during the cold weather I had 'spun' the lens in the frames from wiping the fog from them when entering the warm house from outside when bringing in firewood for the stove.

True story, not a fairy tale.

[add] and my apologies for not first commenting on your husband's condition, I was just trying to add a little [real life] humor to the sense of relief I detect in your last post. Hopefully it is not anything to be concerned about in the long run.

Oh my gosh!! I'm totally telling hubby this!! He had better vision today with his contacts instead of his glasses and I'll tease him and ask him if he turned the lenses (of course the doctor tested them so they were fine but still - FUNNY!!!)

To God be the glory, great things He has done. Sometimes Ro. 8:28 has to be invoked for reinforcement of faith. It matters not what the situation, the conclusion will be good.

That's kind of what we're thinking but he's still going to get a full physical just in case. :)

So glad to hear that they didn't find anything! PTL!

On a side note, my DIL has this same thing happen from time to time. Aura, with later blurred vision. After lots of testing, she was diagnosed with 'silent migraine' which basically is a migraine with no pain.
