My goodness. The straw men arguments, stereotypes, painting with a broad brush and mischaracterizations is real bad in this one.

I thought the author was doing a great job and was agreeing with much of what was said until about Message 6. Then it really veered off into nonsense with the discussion of the New Evangelicals.

Yes, you are correct there are plenty of strawmen in the comments on New Evangelicalism.

The author says the people listed in the OP are not Fundamentalists therefore in his mind they are New Evangelicals. Take a look at Message 8, the column describing New Evangelicals. Would you agree with the author that the SBC (or Piper, or Stanley, or MacArthur) "build bridges to pagan society" and "embrace doctrinal error" and "has man-focused preaching" and "is silent about apostasy"?

Yes the man does not read the books of Mac, Piper, Lutzer, or Stanley, for if he did he would see the error of his statements. Those men love the word and love to teach it. They are not so pragmatic and results oriented as he thinks. I sent that church a message and I suggest you do as well. But then again that church is a favored one in the BJU circles so I doubt it will change them.
