    So ...

Last weekend of the regular season, with most majors playing in conference tournaments. Good time to start the discussion.

Mine are Florida, Wichita State, Duke, Louisville.

I would say Kansas, but I don't think they get past the second round without Joel Embiid. I think Villanova and Arizona are over-rated, and I don't think this is a year for a Cinderella team to make it to the finals of the Big Dance. Above teams are, in my opinion, two #1s and two #2s in the Final Four.

    Wha'dya think?

You'll need to adjust your Final 4, because Wichita State, Duke and Louisville are all in the Midwest region.

    Final Four
    Florida, Michigan State, Arizona, Louisville

    National Championship
    Louisville over Florida

There are always some upsets, so it is just a roll of the dice.

Yep, you're right. Hadn't gotten back here to do that. WSU got the proverbial shaft in this seeding.

I'll still go with Wichita State, Florida, "Cinderella" Baylor (they're playing the most consistent high-level b-ball in the country right now and that's a very weak bracket in the West), and Virginia.

Who played ugly last night and pulled out a victory in OT.

Best game of yesterday was North Dakota State University(12) beating Oklahoma (5) in overtime. Now SDSU plays NDSU on Saturday. Should be interesting.

Everyone is calling the NDSU-OU game an "upset." If anybody watched OU play in the Big XII tournament, they woulda known better.

Seriously, Donovan McNabb called this game two days before it was played! What's McNabb know about basketball, anyway?? Oh, well ...

... Apparently more than the NCAA seeding committee.

Let's just say that NDSU does not have a basketball tradition. In fact their win yesterday was their first NCAA tournament win and only their second appearance. (Lost to Kansas in 2009.) And OU has twice the enrollmentof NDSU. And OU can recruit players. Who wants to go to the frozen tundra of Fargo, ND? So, yes, it was an upset.

Apparently, the scholarship players and walk-ons who beat OU yesterday.

Also, the players on the FCS national championship team.
Sports Illustrated doesn't agree with you. :wavey:

Sorry to disappoint everyone out there, but the first two days of the tournament resulted in there being no pristine brackets in either the ESPN million dollar challenge, or Warren Buffet's billion-dollar payout for a perfect bracket.

Like there was ever gonna be.

And that game Sunday proved it.
And because of the story in this thread, I'll take Baylor for the win, Peter (Marshall, host of Hollywood Squares? Ya know?

(S'what I get for trying to be funny around here.)

You don't go out on a limb early, you don't get no credit for "picking" that Final Four.

And I agree with your end result.

Those big bad seniors have whupped up on our freshmen three times already, I'd hate to see it happen again.

FL plays like a pro team, seems like their guys can hover in the air while making baskets, blows my mind.

Wildcats have grown up a lot since the last matchup, Gators could be in for an upset if they have an off game.

There was a lot of hype before last weekend that "The Big 10 could put three teams in the Final Four," but we all knew that wasn't going to happen. There shouldn't be any Big 10 teams there. Wisconsin came out of easily the weakest bracket there was in the tournament. They essentially gave them a free pass to North Texas.

Meanwhile, the selection committee threw a bunch of very good teams into the Midwest and virtually assured that some team peaking at the time of the tournament would win it. That could have been anyone. It happened to be Kentucky. Could just as easily have been Wichita State, Michigan, St. Louis or Duke. but they didn't get hot. The Wildcats did. It wasn't fair that all those teams had to survive each other in one regional bracket. They should have spread those teams out, even if they had to give them lower seeds in other regionals to do so.

You've articulated precisely my opinion concerning the Midwest bracket; seems Cal wasn't too happy with the way it transpired either.

It certainly made for some nail-biters though, gee wheez, those last three KY games will stay in my memory for a long time to come.

I hope the Wildcats can stay hot, I actually would love to see them match up with Florida one more time.... :)

    Vindication, you know....

I was not trying to pick the final four just naming who ended up there since no one else had.

The two best states in the nation for Basketball is Fla and Ky. Currently Fla is on a roll.
