Salty, thanks for the article. Wow, it is so full of illogical conclusions. Good talking points for those who do not believe others should be helped.

Actually, I AGREE with the article! The Govt thinks that money is the answer to everything. Money helps, but kids need a mom and a DAD!

And this culture is making it eaiser for un-wed mother be better of financially.

While doing some reseach for my radio talk show several years ago, I contacted a represenative of the State Child support collection unit. I asked him how his office can help fathers to have visitation with there children. (In another thread, I talked about the show I did on Christmas Eve with 3 fathers who ex-wifes would not allow dad to see their kids on Christmas Day) Well, the State rep told me "We dont' care about visitation - we just want the money paid."

My answer! Mom brings the kids to the Child support office, Dad gives the check to the Child support office and walks out with the kids.

Thus child-support enforcement is not the only thing that benefits children

…...States have powerful incentives to separate fathers from their children, to give near-total custody to mothers, to maintain the fathers' high-level support obligations even if their income is drastically reduced and to hang onto the father's payments as long as possible before paying them out to the mothers. The General Accounting Office reported that in 2002 that states were holding $657 million in undistributed child support.

Fatherless boys are 63 percent more likely to run away and 37 percent more likely to abuse drugs. Fatherless girls are twice as likely to get pregnant and 53 percent more likely to commit suicide. Fatherless boys and girls are twice as likely to drop out of high school and twice as likely to end up in jail.

We can no longer ignore how taxpayer money is providing incentive for divorce and creating fatherless children. Nor can we ignore the government's complicity in the predictable social costs that result from more than 17 million children growing up without fathers.

Nowhere in the article does the title of this O/P appear, nor does it accurately portray the contents of her opinion piece.

You know this thread is a prime example of the out right intentional lie told by extreme far left liberals. If you do not want to do it their way then you do not want to help people. See they have no real argument so they have to demonize through outright lies. When your intentions are evil you cannot stand on the truth.

You know that you and I disagree on a great many things, but you have nailed this.
