A few months back and recently I have made attempts to REASON with a certain Word of Faith church. I spoke to one of the women pastors and the phone conversation did not go well and she was unwilling to look up various scriptures. Honestly I have had better luck dialoging with a certain Hyper Calvinist church in which we both agreed to disagree as brothers in Christ than with the WOF church.
Its statements like these that make me upset.
"empowers people to go after their dreams & how HIS supernatural creative power can be released in every part of life & worship"
"She is a popular conference speaker who releases people to be set free to walk in supernatural power"
I have sought to follow the example of a old pastor I had whom discipled me and often engaged in apologetics with the cults and others. He was not a street preacher nor evangelist, but he was a very gifted apologist and far better than I could ever hope to become. He was a older man that did not use computers much, but he would visit one on one with the cults and such.
Anyways since my reasoning attempts all failed I told the lady pastor (whom also told the church no doubt) I would openly confront their evangelists if I saw them on the streets of Denver as I did once. They do not preach on sin and in my view are preaching another gospel.
I tried to extend grace but they showed to be very proud an so the street evangelist comes in me, and something my former pastor was not. But I have to wonder should I do such a thing with my wife by my side? We plan to go out witnessing together, and the last time I ran into people from that church I was alone and I made it as clear as day that they were false teachers. But I wonder if I should with my wife whom's more compassionate?
