The current German govt is seeking several war criminals -

seeing that the war was over 70 years ago, and everyone on the list is in their 90's

Is it reasonable to continue this search?

Considering those they killed didn't get to live those 70 years and near 90 years old - absolutely reasonable.

From Germany's viewpoint, it does. They want to exorcise the demons Hitler left behind. And if anyone is still alive who participated in the genocide the Nazis tried to use to eliminate the Jews, then yeah ... he still needs to answer for it.

If they are still alive, they are able to be held accountable for their crimes and ought to be hunted.

In the Playhouse 90 dramatization of the account of famous Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal and his search for Adolf Eichmann, an was portrayed of an interview Wiesenthal did with a woman and Nazi sympathizer who, prior to her arrest and life prison sentence in France for collaboration and murder, allegedly harbored Eichmann briefly when he fled Germany for Argentina. She was very uncooperative and did everything but literally spit in Wiesenthal's face. He had finally had enough, but rather than lose his temper and scream, shout and threaten, he became eerily calm, almost pleasant.

In the production, the actor playing Wiesenthal leaned in very close to her and whispered, "I am vun off dose Jews you hate, one off the vuns you would haf gladly allowed duh Bosch to exterminate. But zee? Here ... " -- he stepped gingerly over and back above the threshold of her prison cell -- " ... I go out, I come in. I am velcome anyfvere I choos to go. But you. You, Madama Karl? You aren't going anyfvere. Efver. You vil liff here. You vil die here. Unless, perhaps, you zee fit to cooperate with dis ... dis ... Jew!"

She did. She gave up Eichmann. And she still lived and died in that tiny cell, never setting foot outside it.

I looked into this portrayal years later, because it stuck with me for years. It is true, almost exactly as it was shown. The woman got exactly as she deserved. Perhaps better.

My PawPaw lived to be 94 years old----and would still hunt Squirrels up until 3 months before he passed

If you can hold a Remington 12gauge shotgun in your hands and walk through the woods at 94----you have the same potential of holding a Luger and pointing it toward . . .

    See what I'm saying???

A lot of Nazis got their records cleaned up and worked for western governments. Most of Germany was involved with the Nazi Party. It will be uphill all the way but if there are some people out there who were Nazi criminal adults in 1945 or before, then, yes, they should be rounded up. I think I would check all the nursing homes and senior centers first.
