Hello Brothers & Sisters

I am new to this site and seem to be breaking all the rules so far.

My name is Richard (Jogli is my screen name). I am a member of FBC of Katy, TX. My wife and I have lived in Houston for a little over a year.

Currently, I have started to learn Greek and I am hoping to find some friends here that might help me out in that area.

I like to talk about anything dealing with the Bible. I consider myself a conservative believer and I am also a member of the Gideons.

Well I hope this puts me on the right footing.

God Bless,

Jogli

Welcome J-Man!

Wow, Katy, Tx. That's where I stayed when we went on vacation back in '84! Went to a Astros vs Braves game and to Astroword (I think that's what it was called.)

Not able to help you with Greek (I have enough trouble with English).

Since you are a Gideon, I assume you are a businessman. What kind of business are you in?

Welcome, and I trust you will have some great fellowship here.

Welcome!! :godisgood:

I've always had a lot of respect for the Gideons and have tried to donate to their work when possible. I think you might be the only one on BB?

HI Richard. Welcome abord the good ship BB. This site has as many points of view as there are cabins on a cruise liner. But you'll find your place.

Have the Gideons experienced any restrictions in their activities recently?

What are the approved English translations now being used?

I hope I am not the only one........ I have not been on a site like this since the BBS days. Yes, they are getting the scriptures out in many countries of the world. Please pray for them.

They still have restrictions dealing with public schools I believe they normally stand outside, but I heard of one camp is going inside. We still put Bibles in hotels, hospitals, and deal with the military.

The Gideons have translations in many different tongues. Here in Houston we have KJV, NKJV, ESV, and Spanish versions. I will post the website you might find more information there.

Welcome to the BB Jogli; you should find plenty of exercise with the Greek in the Bible Versions/Translations Forum.
