    1 John 5:16 supports the non-Calvinist view.

    What is the sin that leads to death? Only one, rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit in the birth, life, miracles, death and resurrection of Jesus. He that does not believe is condemned already.

    What are we not to pray for? The man? Nope. We are not to pray that God would forgive this sin and allow a non-believer into heaven, but we can pray that God would use us to help the man change his mind, and accept the gospel for we are to pray for the lost such as Paul's prayer of Romans 10:1.

    God's desire is for all men to be saved so we are to pray in the will of God that all men will be saved according to God's purpose, saved in a way that glorifies God, which is by their autonomous response to the message of the Gospel brought by the words and examples of Spirit led believers bringing mercy to the lost.

    We are ambassadors of Christ and we have the ministry of reconciliation. We are to pray for more workers because the harvest is plentiful.

    All due respects, Van, and I am not a Calvinist, nor do I want to be identified with them from hereon, but you have totally gone out of context on this one.

    Ah, the magical "context" dust sprinkled liberally over balderdash.

    Note no alternate view is expressed.

    "We cannot pray that the sins of the impenitent and unbelieving should, while they are such, be forgiven them; or that mercy, which supposes the forgiveness of sins, should be granted to them, while they wilfully continue such. But we may pray for their repentance, for their being enriched with faith in Christ, and thereupon for all other saving mercies."

    Note how the above commentator also "took the verse out of context" according to some. :)

    So there is one sin that is not covered by the blood of the Lamb?

    [Van;

    tell that to Annanias and Sapphira.....or those who eat the Lords supper in an ungodly manner;

    29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

    30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep

    Hi Steaver, spot on!

    The Bible chronicles several individual lives that said "Lord, Lord" yet had not believed into Christ. Why not, what was lacking?

    What is the sin that leads to death? Only one, rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit in the birth, life, miracles, death and resurrection of Jesus. He that does not believe is condemned already. Lip service professions of faith which lack wholehearted conviction and reliance, still are in effect a rejection of Christ Jesus, and Matthew 7 describes their fate.

    What are we not to pray for? The man? Nope. We are not to pray that God would forgive this sin and allow a non-believer into heaven, but we can pray that God would use us to help the man change his mind, and accept the gospel for we are to pray for the lost such as Paul's prayer of Romans 10:1.
