According to Romans 13 he needs to either get in line or resign. Simply put.

What, specifically, in Romans 13 says he needs to "get in line"?

One of his duties as our chief justice is to defend our state from federal encroachment.

If he does, not any reason to believe he won't, he will be removed, for the third time I believe.

Well I guess George Washington was rebellious by your interpretation.

He was, but unlike Washington, Moore has representation.

Washington was without a real way for grievances to be heard, taxation without representation. Moore is not in that same place. There is a whole system of law in place to address the grievances Moore has. He is placing himself above the law and inserting his preference on this occasion. The system in place can't only be useful when it gives you results that you like.

Moore would argue that there is a misuse of the system...except no other state supreme court justice I have heard of is telling his lower court judges to ignore the law. That is a real problem.

Figure what? That Washington was violating Romans 13? He did, but given the circumstances one could see/argue why he thought rebellion was the only course of action. Moore is part of a system that allows for grievances, he has lost the argument.

That would be a reasonable legal question for Moore to bring before the court. Much more reasonable than telling lower court judges to ignore rulings coming from other courts.

So based on what you are saying - the civil rights marches of the 60's were illegal

Haven't said anything of the like. It is legal to peacefully protest. If Moore wanted to lead a peaceful protest at the Lincoln Memorial, he is welcome to have at it.

Had Washington been afforded the same such opportunity, perhaps rebellion could have been avoided.

Peaceful protests are one thing - but how many riots were there in the South.....

Not necessary comparing the two - other than to say that instead of protest marches - why didn't Martin King just - well as in your words There is a whole system of law in place to address the grievances (post #9 ). King simply could have went to court to change the laws.

Yeah simple as that. They could just go to the all white government that had been treating them like property and second hand citizens for a century and ask if they could please knock it off. MLK's speeches were all so well received by white America weren't they.

I would suggest that you find another analogy that closer resembles the point you are trying to make. There comes a time for rebellion, but comparing the American Revolution and the Civil Rights activists of the 60's to same sex marriage is really pushing it.
