    Sung to the tune of:
    "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less"
    (apologies to Mr. Edward Mote)

    My hope is built on nothing less
    Than MacArthur's notes and Piper's press;
    I dare not trust the sweetest frame
    But wholly lean on Calvin's name.
    On R.C. Sproul's solid rock, I stand;
    All other ground is Arminian sand,
    All other ground is Arminian sand.

    His books, his podcasts and his Tweets
    Support me when I'm feeling weak;
    When he comes on with podcast sound
    Way of the Master I will be found;
    On Comfort's solid rock I stand;
    All other ground is Arminian sand,
    All other ground is Arminian sand.

    People named James that I find right
    Are Montgomery Boice and Mr. White
    I dare not read the Word alone
    I have become a Reformed drone
    On Packer's solid rock I stand;
    All other ground is Arminian sand,
    All other ground is Arminian sand.

    Hmm...I counted only six Calvinists in that ditty. Calvin certainly wasn't a Calvinist.

    Ray Comfort isn't one.

    I know it's hard to fit more names into such an irreverent piece --when you try to rob Christ of His glory.

    Did you come up with that piece, or does someone else get the original blame? I mean you deserve a lot of the blame even if you didn't author it --but I was just wondering.

    Yeah...ITL, look bud, I'm as non-Cal as anyone else around here, but at some point you just gotta let it go. There are better battles to fight.

    It was so easy, it came to me in that period just before sleep.

    Actually, the first two lines were altered from a version I learned as a kid:

    "My faith is built on nothing less,
    than Schofield's notes and Moody Press"

    I figured I'd modernize it and adapt it for the Reformed crowd.

    I'm not fighting a battle. I'm satirically pointing out that Reformed people make heroes out of their leaders and rely heavily on their writings, sermons, and other media.

    Well, lookie here:

    The spelling is Scofield. I should know, as a former PB, his notes were ingrained in us. (Along with Darby, Kelly,Mackintosh etc.) But I left his influence behind almost 40 years ago.

    Yeah, I left Scofield's influence behind me about 40 years ago as well, including proper spelling of his name.

    Moving this to the humor section.

    Poor in so many ways, but not fit for Baptist discussion

    Quite humorous and certainly an attack on me and the teachers that God has used to help me.

    Go chase a rabbit.

    So full of hatred. But remember John 15:18 "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me (Christ) before it hated you."

    If you hate those who have been bought by Christ you hate the Christ Who bought them. :(
