"The Man of Sin" and "the Man of God"

The "man of sin", even the "son of perdition" [as Judas was a type; John 17:12; an inside betrayer (Luke 22:48; John 6:71, 12:4, 13:2), even with a "kiss" (Matthew 26:48-49; Mark 14:44; Luke 22:47-48), in other words, it shall be that which outwardly claims to follow Jesus, or be like Jesus]:

2 Thessalonians 2:3 - Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away [αποστασιαG646 N-NSF (apostasia)] first, and that man of sin be revealed (αποκαλυφθηG601 V-APS-3S (apokalupsthe)), the son of perdition;

There were/are many antichrists (2 Corinthians 11:13,15; 1 John 2:18), as well as a head (ultimately satan himself, who will manifest and personate Jesus Christ; 2 Corinthians 11:14).

Even as, there is also the "man of God":

2 Timothy 3:17 - That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Is the "man of God" one man and/or many?

Just as Jesus is the Head, yet He also has a "body" (Romans 11:16, 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 10:17, 12:12-14,18,20,26-27; Ephesians 5:30; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 10:5, etc) the True Temple. So too also, in the counterfeit, Satan (Root) and his body (branches) (Malachi 4:1), the counterfeit Temple.

2 Thessalonians 2:4 - Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The "temple of God"?

1 Corinthians 3:9 - "... ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building."

1 Corinthians 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 3:17 - If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

1 Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

2 Corinthians 6:6 - And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Ephesians 2:21 - In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

1 Peter 2:5 - "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house ..."

Revelation 3:12 - Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name.

Jesus own "Body" is the Temple:

John 2:21 - But he spake of the temple of his body.

Brother lakeside, I do not speak of the actual Mary, the mother of Jesus, of the Scriptures, but of the false one masquerading in Roman Catholicism. I do not speak harshly, but kindly, and with even tones, knowing wherefrom I speak, having done the research:

That just removed the whole false dual-classification that Roman Catholicism displays in its 'dulia', 'hyper-dulia' (so-called) vs 'latria', and more could be shown on this point from Scripture itself, and of the writings of Romanism. It elevated the 'Mary' of Roman Catholicism to equal status in a "common" way in "worship" to God, that 'Mary' could have "mercy" upon "sinners". She is not the Lawgiver, and could not therefore have such mercy upon "sinners" (transgressors of the Law, Ten Commandments, 1 John 3:4). It is not, and can never be in such a creatures prerogatives.

In these and in all other troubles of life her power is most far-reaching. Her desire to use it is most ardent to bring consolation, strength, and help of every kind to children who are dear to her. … 13. Accordingly, let us approach Mary confidently, wholeheartedly beseeching her by the bonds of her motherhood which unite her so closely to Jesus and at the same time to us. Let us with deepest devotion invoke her constant aid in the prayer which she herself has indicated and which is most acceptable to her. St. John of Damascus (P.G., I, 96) thus formulates the tradition of the Church of Jerusalem:

St. Juvenal, Bishop of Jerusalem, at the Council of Chalcedon (451), made known to the Emperor Marcian and Pulcheria, who wished to possess the body of the Mother of God, that Mary died in the presence of all the Apostles, but that her tomb, when opened, upon the request of St. Thomas, was found empty; wherefrom the Apostles concluded that the body was taken up to heaven.

Regarding the origin of the feast we are also uncertain. It is more probably the anniversary of the dedication of some church than the actual anniversary of Our Lady's death. That it originated at the time of the Council of Ephesus, or that St. Damasus introduced it in Rome is only a hypothesis.

Note: By promulgating the Bull Munificentissimus Deus, 1 November, 1950, Pope Pius XII declared infallibly that the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was a dogma of the Catholic Faith. Likewise, the Second Vatican Council taught in the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium that "the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, when her earthly life was over, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things (n. 59)."

"AntiChrist".* What does this word mean?

Let us look at a few definitions of the word itself, from basic concordances, etc (though, they are merely useful, for the Bible is the actual Definer of terms):

Antichristos; ἀντίχριστος : "1) the adversary of the Messiah" [Strong's Concordance] and also "the adversary of the Messiah...of the corrupt power and influence hostile to Christian interests, especially that which is at work in false teachers who have come from the bosom of the church and are disseminating error..." [Thayer's Lexicon] and also "...can mean either "against Christ" or "instead of Christ", or perhaps combining the two, "one who, assuming the guise of Christ, opposes Christ" (Westcott) ... What the Apostle says of him so closely resembles what he says of the first beast in Rev. 13, and what the Apostle Paul says of the Man of Sin in 2 Thess. 2., that the same person seems to be in view in all these passages, rather than the second beast in Rev. 13, the false prophet; for the latter supports the former in all his Antichristian assumptions." Now, let us look at the word broken down into its components, and notice the other use:

Therefore "AntiChrist" means that "which is in the place of or instead of Christ" so "opposing Christ".

It was clearly shown that the personage known as the "pope" has a name and title which is commonly and currently used to this day, which being "vicarius christi":

Let us look at the Numbers themselves and their definitions according to Strong's Concordance, and see if there is anything else to consider:

So we have even from the numbers, an "unmarried" "father" of "vanity" who claims "to do good" (or whose works begin, are, and come to nothing).

Matthew 7:22 - Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

"Morals" deals with God's Divine Law, especially his Ten Commandments. For sin is the transgression of the Law [1 John 3:4], and speaking also of "Faith" in what we are to believe, for whatsoever is not of Faith is sin [Romans 14:23]. This 'papal position' claims power over Divine Law and Faith and to interpret, change, alter, modify, abrogate, even to dispense with all things, etc, even as we shall see, the very precepts of Christ Jesus Himself.

This 'power' claims to be of God and follow Christ Jesus [it claims to be Christian], yet we see it is a "son of perdition" and instead is setting itself over the whole Temple of God, ruling from a Throne and "sitteth" over them, even having its own "morals and faith". This 'power' also turns over to the state authority the True Christians to be tried and executed [just as Judas had done to Jesus by handing Him over to the Religious Leaders of the Jews [corrupt church] and Romans [civil authority], for both came to take him, both responsible for His death], for it 'persecutes and wears out the saints' and causes their deaths. We shall see, that it still has within it the terrible ability to do so, even today, it has not changed, for "she" will not "repent".

Remember the pictures previously? Enthroned on the Great White Throne, and so on, and remember also the throne, seat, chair in the confessional ? A "man" seated "in the place of" "Christ" "on earth"...
